  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Rondo, Smith, and Howard would be a monstrous defensive team, but the offense would probably be very ugly. Howard wouldn't have enough spacing and free-throw shooting for the team would probably be horrendous.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I don't know how we would score. Teams would basically sag off, double team Howard and make us shoot from 15 feet for the entire season.
Some of the scoring droughts would just be horrific. Think about how bad we have it now with KG, Ray and Pierce and how long we go without a basket against good defenses.
We'd need two of the most athletic, offensive minded shooting guard and power forwards in the NBA because none of these guys can shoot to save their life.
Doc would turn us into a run and gun team for long portions of the game depending on our size advantage with Howard.
If we have the edge inside, we'd go to him.
If not, we would run the floor and it would be alley oop central. Key to this is a real dead eye shooting guard.
Ray would be perfect.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
