Magic won't trade Howard for Bynum, actually I don't think there's ANY trade that would give value back for Howard except for Blake Griffin. Howard will become a free agent, i'm 100% certain about this.

As for the Hornets, well they could rid themselves of Okafor to any team they wanted basically, wether in a 3 team trade with the Celtics/Pacers or Celtics/Kings, just two examples, I just don't believe either will be traded to the Lakers.

Why wouldn't Orlando agree to 50 cents on the dollar--instead of 0 cents on the dollar?

Paul, Kobe and Gasol is a mighty trio, but Artest, Okafor, Fisher, Blake, Brown and Walton is an overpaid and ill-fitting supporting cast.

And I think Odom would have to be moved to a third team with young assets coming back in return to make this more appealing to NO.  Maybe Golden St.

It's bad enough watching Miami, but I would probably stop following the NBA all together if this were to happen.

I think I would have a bigger problem if Paul goes to NY and Williams and Howard sign in Brooklyn.  3 super teams in the Eastern Conference, with 2 of them in the Atlantic division would be too much for me.  There would be zero chance of me renewing my season tickets, unless the C's pulled off a miracle and found a few other superstars of their own.

I agree Kobe is old.  He now a good player not the great player he once was and you can say this of KG, RA and PP.

I didn't say just Michael Westbrook, period. It was Westbrook and players, for Paul. I think it depends on your opinion of talent.

For me, it wouldn't even be a discussion to me if I had to choose between Bynum and Westbrook - and I don't even think THAT highly of Westbrook. It's just that I think THAT little of Bynum, who is an injury riddled, immature and punkish big man who has proved very little.

Westbrook, on the other hand, has proven that he plays "hard" every night and plays with a lot of heart and generally with good results. He has star potential. Bynum has "malcontent" potential.

Therefore, yes, I would rather trade, for example, Chris Paul for a package of Westbrook, Harden and Collison seven days a week and twice on Sundays.

At least I 'd get a decent NBA back court duo in return, along with an outstanding role player in Collison. That's better than an impish seven footer sitting on my bench for what is very likely a good part of the next ten years with  one of two, or BOTH knees, swollen and wrapped due to the latest minor cartilage tear.

Bynum is an injury riddled, pouty Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. with about as much class in his entire body as Chris Paul has in his his pinky toe.

Good point re the NBA wanting that trade to happen csfan, didn't think about that.

...and exactly Rocknroll...

Why would the Magic trade Howard for Bynum when they could easily get something of value for him? I know Howard could refuse to sign an extension and therefore force his way to LA, but...

You don't think he'd seriously consider playing with soem other team if it looked really good as far as competing for a ring immediately?

I think NO can do better than Bynum and scrubs for Paul and Okafor. Since West is up in the air and this trade idea being thrown out, who would NO have? No way they settle with a team that the best player is Bynum.

I think they can do better. ORL trade makes more sense for both sides. (Because im scared of CP3,kobe,gasol lineup with whatever Heat-esque bench fillers)
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I agree pretty sure LA fans are salivating at the mouth a Kobe, Paul and Pau lineup would be a nightmare for the league (as much as I hate saying it).

im with you.  the oklahoma city thunder would be the only thing keeping me interested in the nba at all if both the lakers and the heat were completely setup to dominate for the next 3-4 years.

Completely agree that NO can do better than a gimpy center who hasn't proven ANYTHING yet in his career.

While I don't agree that Orlando can offer much (something like Jameer Nelson, Reddick, Bass and Ryan Anderson is probably the best they can do and is still pretty week) at least you can have 4 healthy guys who can play a little bit.
If Fakers give up Odom, too, that favors them a  little.

However, a 3way with Cs and Pacers NO gets Hibbert (a young center), NO natives Granger and BBD and  a future pg in Avery Bradley (or Collison if need be or the Clips pick)gives them way more youth and talent than the Fakers deal.

I know this sounds desperate, but CP3 in LaLaLand ?!?!?....God help us all!!

Honestly...just Paul doesnt make the Lakers much better...

seriously.

Bynum is what gives the Lakers the edge. With him in the linup they become the biggest eam in the league who also happens to have Kobe Bryant.

With Paul instead of him, they become more ordinary.

Also, what offense do the Lakers run this year? If its the triangle, Im not sure Paul is a good fit.
