I don't know how many fans watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I personally don't (so hat tip to Red's Army for this story), but the concept is a good one. As described by wikipedia:
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EM:HE) is a reality television series providing home renovations for less fortunate families and community schools etc. . . .
Each episode features a family that has faced some sort of recent or ongoing hardship such as a natural disaster or a family member with a life-threatening illness, in need of new hope.
Last night's episode featured a family in Springfield, MA:
On April 6, 2009, 11-year-old Carl Walker took his own life after being relentlessly bullied at school. Carl's family has focused their energies on helping others. They have turned this tragic event into something positive by lobbying for new state and federal laws against bullying.
The 3rd floor of the Walker home is where Carl took his own life. As a result, the family cannot bear the sadness of being on that floor. They need a new home that would meet their current needs yet also honor Carl in a positive way. Know anyone who can help?
One of the people who could help was Ray Allen, as shown as in this clip:

By the way, notice how those are labeled "deleted scenes"? That's because of the idiotic NBA Lockout. Apparently, shows that held NBA licenses weren't allowed to showcase NBA players during the lockout. Read more here:
Link. Therefore, the vast majority of fans will never know about Ray's act of good will and charity. While I'm sure he's not in it for PR, I think it's commendable when athletes use their celebrity to help the less fortunate.
(If you want to watch the entire episode, without the Ray scenes, see
here. Also, if you're looking for a good cause to help support, the anti-bullying movement isn't a bad place to start.
