AI is not a PG, bottom line.  He was a short SG.  People consider him a PG because he had to play that on defense but on offense his primary role was to score.   He played some PG and averaged 6.2 APG but I consider him one of those combo guards whose job it was to score.

I don't think he has mentor's personality.   There is very little he could show Rondo.   AI was a scorer not a shooter.   Rondo is neither and with his form would never be either and he is distributor.  Scorers have a mentally.   I don't think it can be teached.     You either have it or you do not.  Rondo does not have it.   With his FG% I would not want him teaching Rondo to shoot.   We have Ray for that and he has better purer form.

I get some guys like him a lot and he is a personal hero.   But has he ever mentored anyone?  No one as he has always been a starter.  He raised heck over starting his last tour in the NBA.   He has never been a team first guy.  But I guess hero worship blinds one's eyes to obvious faults.

I am ok with a league minimum look at him.   But to think he could mentor anyone is sheer folly.  A wolf does not change it's skin at this stage in the game.

Delonte West is a good backup...yes, as a combo..but he can shoot and drive....another backup would be good, but ai for short money and as a bench player...if he can deal with it....as far as backups go.....center, forwards, small forward, power forward...we need a lot of backups here.!

We may already have one in Bradley.

DWest and Bradley make a great tandem...they compliment each other's game well....

On offense, DWest can be the 1 and AB the 2.

On defense, AB can cover the 1 and DWest the 2. That will be some pretty tenacious D.

Because of Delonte’s injuries last season, we almost never got to see that combo on the court.

Like to give AB a chance. People are including him in all sorts of trade scenarios. If we trade him now, we are selling LOW....not smart

I like AB better than AI for us....always intrigued by AI, though.

The AI situation is too much like when we brought in Starbury.  The past is no indication of their current situation.  AI seems down and out, kinda  like he would eat vasoline on Ustream.  Don't see him here.

You're using the term 'great' awfully loosely.

Gotta play Bradley more...barely seen him last year, and i saw almost every game..! Doc has odd rotations.... Don't forget though, Rondo DID get his shot going..and he isn't done developing....don't quit on him yet..with Ray there, and plenty of other shooting coaches..he may well become the shooter you all want. All i say is hold the rest of the team to the same HIGH standard...BBD.....
