I love Evans as a defender hustle guy. I would replace him with BBD without even thinking. Of all the undersized bigs in the league, Evans is my favorite. Offense or no offense.

Got to like to rumors. C's are going after defense and rebounding.

I love Evans as a defender hustle guy.

I'm surprised how many people are complimenting Evans' D.  He doesn't play much defense.  Rather, he rebounds, at the cost of just about everything else.

It's a common misconception because people equate rebounding and hustle with defense as a result of certain players who made a living that way in the past, mainly Dennis Rodman and Ben Wallace. Evans is a poor man's version of those 2 and an inferior defender. He is pretty aggressive and scary looking though.

You have to admit rebounding is our achilles heal.  I like Reggie and I like Dorsey too.

I agree with either of these two or Kurt Thomas or Chuck Hayes too.

We gotta get a lot tougher physically and beat on a few people this year.

When we won it all in '08, every player contributed. The following years the bench disintegrated little by little. Last year's bench was wonderful in theory but got plagued with injury and on the younger guys no less. Perhaps rebuilding the bench would mean a championship?

Am I insane or has there been two pages of comments without a single person catching Drucci's "reached out" to Reggie Evans pun?

gotta love the obvious flop after the shove that he knew was coming.

Evans is just a rebounder. I noticed but it looks like Roy H. stated it first. what defense? He's pretty slow footed, absolutely can't block a shot, isnt known for his hands at all. and to add to what everyone has stated, we'll be filling out a missing persons report with the Boston PD when we're on offense. Evans is good enough to make someones roster, im not sure if im ready to say i'd be excited if it were Bostons.

Rodman was not JUST a rebounder.  He was arguably the greatest rebounder ever, but he was also a great all around defender.  A big part of what made him a great rebounder, was the way he would fight for position in the post.  He used that same attribute, to keep elite offensive players out of their comfort zones and frustrate them.  Plus he could guard 3 positions, which gave his teams added flexibility on their other defensive matchups.

Ben wallace wasn't on Rodmans level in terms of overall defense, but he certainly wasnt just a rebounder either.  He was one of the best at weak side help in the post, and fast enough to get steals (more like interceptions) on any careless pass across the lane.

You want to talk about a guy with poor defense thats camouflaged by his rebounding, I'd say Kevin Love.  Rodman and Wallace  actually did play some D.

Always liked Kurt Thomas.  He has size, experience and a mid-range baseline shot.  Would be a great backup for JO who will step to the starting spot in when Jermaine goes down (happens every year).

Not a fan of Reggie Evans unless we have one more roster spot to fill.  No thanks on Chuck Hayes.

I think he said that people expect that other rebounders/hustlers are good defenders because Rodman and Wallace were rebounders/hustlers who were also good defenders.

I too respect Kurt Thomas as a player.   He always finds a way to contribute.

Reggie Evans 'reached out' to a guy once. Chris Kaman still has nightmares.

And yes for the record if by some fashion Reggie Evans is signed by the Celtics...yes, I, and others, will be ball-grabbing jokes until they're not funny. Larbrd and Drucci know what I'm talkin about.
