Multiple NBA sources: If the Hornets consider trading Chris Paul, one player they really like is Stephen Curry & have told GSWs that

Quote
But again, Warriors would need assurance from Paul that he'd consider re-signing here before going anywhere down that trade path. Doubtful

If the gsw want a pg and paul doesn't want to be there, would they want rondo? Replace curry with rondo next to ellis and you have the most dynamic backcourt in the league.

The c's get paul

the hornets get curry, green? and draft picks....

what do you guys think?

He wont sign an extension there so it wont happen. It's sad but he'll go where he wants to go regardless of the offer. It's unfortunate for the Hornets since they cant take the best package available.

^ I don't think that's true. I could defintely see Ainge doing what the Nets did in hopes of convincing CP3 to resign over the season and possibly nabbing Dwight Howard in free agency.

This Paul thing is going to get way more tiresome than the Carmelo thing last year, particularly because our point guard is going to keep getting brought up in connection with this stupidity.

Here's an idea:  Play out your contract in New Orleans, Chris, and then when you become a free agent in the off-season, go where you want and/or to who wants you the most.

Maybe it's not the system or the players themselves that make player movement in the NBA seem like such a ridiculous circus, but rather it's the "twitter" media and fans like us on blogs like ours that perpetuate the irritating nature of all these free agency and impending free agency situations.

I personally think Rondo next to Ellis would be a disaster.  They're each too ball dominant to thrive in the same backcourt, even if their speed and skill would be a lot of fun to watch in the open court.

Agreed. Curry compliments Ellis so much because he can shoot so well. Clearly that's not rondo.

Great move for the warriors if they could do it. Rondo would fit their run and gun style more than well... Still dont wanna see him go however.

If GSW is trading Curry for Paul its to ship Paul elsewhere in a three way and to turn the PG duties over to Monta Ellis. My guess would be they would want a center coming back or a pure SG. I think Gordon or Jordan from the Clippers would make sense.

Quietly Ellis' shooting has improved. His mid-range game is actually now pretty respectable, to the point that you just can't sag off him.

The one that would really benefit from Rondo there is David Lee. He would put HUGE numbers playing with a guy that can him the ball in the right spots.

You need a shooter around Ellis because Monta is a "get out of the way" kind of player. He needs someone to kick the ball out to when the help defense sets in. I love Rajon but he is not a shooter.

It's not so much that Monta can't shoot.  Rather, it's that he needs the ball in his hands to be effective.  Rondo is the same way.  Neither if really effective playing off the ball.

(Also, Monta's jumper could still use some work.  See here.  He is phenomenal at finishing at the rim, but he shoots below 40% on jumpers inside the three point line.)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I would love to get Curry as the new Ray Allen. [dang] that would be great to see him with Rondo for 4-5 years.

keep dreaming.

Read that last line again. One more time.

There is a separate rumor of Ellis for Rudy Gay. I think if GSW could be going for this type of lineup:
PG-CP3 or Rondo
SG-Klay Thompson
SF-Rudy Gay

Curry to NO
Mayo to NO
Rondo to GS
Gay to GS
Ellis to MEM
Udoh to MEM
CP3 to BOS

Framework of a deal?  If DH is considered unattainable even with CP3 on board, could consider taking on Okafor as well.
