He's really close to CP-3 Overall and he's a better shooter with more range. I say we would be dynamic with him at the point and have a better shot at winning than with Rondo. Albeit maybe one year only.

You do realize that means the Celtics will be building around a 22 year old rookie from Purdue and nobody else right?

Also, Rondo is the Celtics best chance for winning this year. Anyone else wont gel quickly enough. Overall a terrible idea to trade a top 5 pg who's locked up on a cheap contract for a 1 year rental.

Ah yes, my favorite Rondo defense. He's a "top 5 pg." It's funny how everyone all of a sudden knows the criteria for what makes somebody a top 5 point guard. I wonder if I'll ever have a chance of being a top 5 ball boy in the NBA.

It's no worse than "Player X is a better shooter than Rondo, therefore the offense will greatly improve with him instead of Rondo". Because, of course, things like vision, passing ability, or how well you run an offense are pretty unimportant for point guards.

Good luck with the ball-boy thing though.

I personally like where you're going with this. And I just read that D-Will will not (no pun intended) sign an extension with New Jersey and will want to test the free agent market.

Knowing the Celts can give him a max contract, I wonder if this makes him more likely to want to be a Celtic in a trade.

Deron is another guy I would definitely trade Rondo for in a heartbeat.

Rondo's a top 5 point guard.  I hope you're sufficiently amused.
