I repeat, Celtics WILL NOT trade Rondo.

According to Chris Forsberg on twitter: Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge: No intentions of trading Rondo

and "Quick hits after Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge met the media, including Danny saying he's not trying to trade Rondo"

Here's the link: http://twitter.com/#!/ESPNForsberg

And when asked about the rumors Danny and Doc has this to say:

Quote
"Usually, I'm around [the players] when these [trade rumors] happen," said Ainge. "This is a unique situation in that it's happened now. I will talk to the players and share with them the truth about rumors and everything else. I don't like to discuss them with the media -- the truth or validity of rumors. But I do discuss them with players."

Some will wonder if it's simply spin control, but Ainge went so far as to suggest Rondo's name being mentioned in such a deal is quite the compliment for a young player.

"Trade rumors are part of the world we live in," said Ainge. "It's a media circus out there and everybody's name has been in trade rumors. And everybody's name will be. If you're worth your salt, you'll be mentioned in a trade somewhere along the line. That's just a part of the business that players have to learn to deal with as well.

"We love our players and I think our players know that. They know that we really like them. There may be sensitive feelings here and there, but I think those will be addressed. I'm not worried about that at all."

Echoed Rivers: "The veterans, obviously, are used to it. The younger guys will get used to it. Danny's right -- if you're a good player, it's very likely at some point that you're going to be mentioned in a rumor. That doesn't mean any of them are true."

Asked specifically about Rondo, Rivers offered high praise.

"I'm not going to compare him to the other guys, but I think he's one of the top point guards in the NBA," he said. "I think Rondo has established that. There's a reason that, whenever this thing leaked out, that it was all over the news. It's because the players they are talking about are both really good. That's why. Rondo has established that through his play. Listen, he's a great basketball player and he does so many things for our team. He should be flattered in a lot of ways that this is news."

Only thing is that they would deny it even if it was almost a done deal. It's pretty clear that nothing with Rondo will happen now though and I think nothing was really very close either.

The news clipping you posted didn't deny the rumor once, unless I missed something. Looks more like damage control in the highly likely event that Rondo is not traded.

Well, I still won't be surprised to see CP3 in Green on Christmas Day, lol....

...but in the meantime I'm happy that it seems (right now) that we are keeping Rondo.

Problem is brother you have to take EVERYTHING danny Ainge says with a grain of salt. He said the same thing right before he traded Big Al for KG. You cant expect him as a GM of the Boston Celtics to go out and say "yah we might trade rondo for CP3." That just wont happen. What he does CONTINUE to say is, no one on our team is untouchable, and even though he says "I dont foresee us trading any of the big 4", doesnt mean he WONT trade one of the big 4, and that includes Rondo.

Until Dec 25th starts, no one is safe.

I repeat, Celtics WILL NOT trade Rondo.

You thought they were going to say, "Yeah, we are trading Rondo!"? Please! I have heard the "lies" before. We won't know a thing until the last minutes. Besides, they never said he won't be traded, in fact, he said everything I would say if I didn't want to tip my hand either way.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Even if he is trying to trade Rondo, he must say this. He must meet with Rondo and tell him that he isn't trying to trade him. Then you can sit with him again if a trade comes together, but for now we must keep Rondo happy.

Of course Danny is going to say this.

IF he finds a deal where he likes the return on any player on this roster, he'll deal them.

No one is untouchable. It's a business.

Actually, he said he is not planning on trading Rondo.  HUGE difference.  In GM speak, all that means is that a deal is not finalized.

Exactly you should know Ainge by now this doesn't mean "Rondo stays in Green" far from that I still think he probably goes
