TP Roy I was wondering the same thing myself.  Also when are they expected to approve the deal and what exactly in the deal sill needs to be agreed upon?

From what I understand, the following steps need to happen:

1.  The 14 plaintiffs in the consolidated lawsuits need to sign off on the deal.  This will hopefully take place tomorrow;

2.  The Union needs to re-certify.  Again, this shouldn't take too long;

3.  The sides need to work out the rest of the "side items".  This could take longer.  Side issues include, among other things, drug testing, the D-League, and the age limit.  (One idea being floated is that the NBA will keep the age limit as it is, but authorize a committee to investigate increasing the age to 20.)

Regarding the age limit I'd like for then to do this... u can enter the league right from out of High school, but of u don't u can't enter the league till you' re 20

I think that only works if you allow players to re-enter the draft after college if they don't like their draft position, like they do in baseball (so long as players don't hire an agent).

The NBA's regular season will run Dec. 25-April 26, a league source told ESPN.

The 66-game season will include 48 conference games, down from 52 last season. With only 18 games against teams from the other conference, teams will not visit every NBA city.

Teams will play about two more games per month, the report said, and each team will play on three straight nights at least once, but no more than three times.

Off days in the second round of the playoffs will also be limited.

How much do you want to bet that it's the Celtics that get scheduled for three back-to-back-to-backs?

This could help the Celtics because they have a history of resting players over top seeded placing. So a pitch to a free agent could be something like: "Hey, look at all these back to back to back games. There is no way are starters can handle that kind of grind at their age, so you will get some good regular season minutes if you decide to sign here". Not only do I think it's a good sell to the free agents Ainge is courting, I also think it's a good season strategy for an older team like this.

The only way I like that back-to-back-to-back is if it's division rivals playing a 3-game series.  That could actually be exciting, and neither team is at a major fatigue disadvantage. 

Teams would have to travel because I doubt anyone's playing another team 3 times at home, but if they're close enough it'd be doable, especially if Game 1 is in the afternoon. That'd be a really nice way to do it in my opinion.

Hey, that's a funny way to look at it, especially if you'd think of an entire season consisting of little series like that. And spread out a bit more of course. 2 In Boston, 2 in LA.

If the NBA goes ahead with the 66 game schedule, here's the win total we should be shooting for: 40-49.

In a 81 game schedule, a good season is a 60 win season.  This is equivalent to 49 games in the shortened season.

A 50 win season is a 41 win season.

500 is of course, 33 win season.

I'd be happy with 40 to 45.

I'm a little disappointed that each team won't visit every NBA city, but I guess that's expected. The celtics are a lock to get the 3 back-back-back sets.

The Grizzlies better come to Boston. I think that would be the only game I'd want to see AND justify paying for. Still my 2nd favorite team, but aren't they everybodys 2nd fav now?

I'm still confused as to why the Warriors play so often on Christmas.

I guess the bay area was the largest market left after covering dallas, LA, nyc, chicago, boston.
