  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
As of right now the thunder, Green was an extra that they really didn't need. He didn't deserve to start over Ibaka or Durant and he wasn't really a bench leader as we've seen. With Perkins OKC solidified their biggest need a true starting center while trading a spare part(Green). Greens so called talent and potential advantage is beat out by Perkins position, style, and defined role. You can have all the talent in the world, but it doesn't matter if you don't know your role on the court.

The only way I could say the thunder lost this trade is if Perkins continues to have health issues or we get a really high lotto pick some time soon via the Clippers. Perkins did well with the thunder and had an immediate impact when he joined him and he was barely healthy. He'll probably look great after the lockout.

Too early to tell.

With Rondo hurt last year, we weren't going to win the title, Perk or no Perk, so we'll have to see what happens this year.

Tough to say until we see how Kendrick turns out for them.

Jeff Green is obviously terrible but Kendrick Perkins didn't look great for them either.  So we still have a chance to come out ahead in the whole thing

I think JG's biggest problem after coming here was not really knowing how or what to do to fit in somehow within a very finely-tuned system.  He really does need a full camp and system, I think.

In the end, I think he easily has starter/#3 option talent and ability.  He could be close to that now.  If there is a season, we'll see this year that we picked up a very strong player in the deal.

What will come of the draft pick?  It's possible to draft a solid contributor, and not out of the question to draft a possible scoring starter as well, especially with two first rounders, one a Clips pick.

A solid draft and JG signing for under Rondo money make the deal a complete steal for Boston.

View the trade objectively, not with a Green Heart.

2 healthy players for 2 unhealthy players.

We won the trade.

Oh, we get a pick too?

They got owned on the deal!

I vote for the Celtics as I believe they were not going to sign Perk and the only part of all the pieces that were involved that are relevant after the 2010-2011 season will be the draft pick.

The other thing that is important but rarely mentioned is we got out of a bad contract when they took Nate.  That is addition by subtraction.

So as you consider this from the perspective of this point forward, we saved $4.5M and have a future good pick in exchange for nothing that would have been around anyway.

Krstic might come back, Green may sign, heck, there was a chance that we could have resigned Perk but none of that is likely to happen, even signing Green.

It'll be fine, objective or not. I loved the deal then, and after watching Perkins in the playoffs I love it more now.
