Well Mr Stern, Hardline Owners, and Hardline Player Agents,

Congratulations for a job well done. You have managed to single-handed destroy the NBA and have slapped the Career NBA Basketball Fans in the face with your hard-headed negotiating tactics and good old fashioned American Corporate Greed. Y'all deserve to lose your careers, your property, and your customers over this petty little 300 million dollar dispute.

You have lost the casual fans as they have moved on to baseball, football, hockey, NASCAR, Golf, and of course College Basketball.

As for the players, Good luck to you in your future endeavors, take a job overseas, run basketball camps, go into college coaching and network, network, network with the big boys of the NBA.

As for the coaches and the GMs update your resumes and take a college coaching job.

As for the referrees, take jobs overseas and learn the FIBA rules and keep your skills sharp. Or go volunteer at the local little leagues.

I am truly sorry to be writing this message but I will continue to network in here and discuss less depressing topics than the NBA.

Humming to Nutty Ventures, I head off to the Stanley Cup of Chowder and put on my skates and pick up a hockey stick.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Agreed.

The worst part is that they will come back with a new deal that will do nothing for the basketball fan.

I would like to start a Fans occupy the NBA movement if they do come back.  A boycott on the NBA.

As time goes on, new rules pass that only stick it to our wallets.  Season ticket prices keep going up, deadweight players still get paid, and they add more games to playoffs to the detriment of quality just to squeeze a few more dollars out of us.

I personally would like to see 10 less games in a regular season (72 games/ no back to backs) and going back to a 5 game format for first round games.  That season ticket owners should have to even pay for preseason games is ridiculous anyway.

What would you want changed in the NBA if fans could collectively bargain against the league?

The sad thing about all of this is that we, the fans, will be back. No matter how much we complain. No matter how angry we get. No matter how many times we say "[expletive] the NBA!" ... you and I both know that the second the Celtics return to the court, I'll either be at the Garden or anxiously tuning in to CSN.

That's why the NBA actually can afford this, to a certain extent. They know that the fans will always be back. If LeBron James and Kevin Durant are going head to head, we'll be there. If Blake Griffin comes to town, we'll be watching. We'll still buy NBA 2K. We'll still wear our Celtics gear.

Sure, there will be a percentage of fans that will either truly brush off the NBA, or maintain their stubborn stance for a period of time... but that group is not gonna be enough to severely damage the league. Virtually all of the damage they will face, they brought on themselves by simply not having games. Even some of you/us that are on an anti-NBA hot streak right now, in the midst of emotions... you know deep down that if you're at home on a Thursday night and the Celtics are playing LA on TNT... you will tune in. Even if you don't the first time around... you'll be back eventually.

I'm sick of em too.  They'll talk Monday.  They'll come together on Thursday.  There will be subcommittees meeting for a couple hours Saturday.  They'll regroup Wednesday.  They'll meet again Friday.  They're haggling over the BRI this weekend.  They're very tired and will retire until Tuesday.

Screw you NBA.  And screw you, union.  I for one am SICK of seeing Derek Fisher's face plastered all over the news articles and seriously Billy, get a haircut.  I'm not going to even enjoy this season, if it even happens.

And it's really too bad because I was holding out faith this whole time.  Just sick of it all.  I'm spending more time than usual with the Patriots so that's what is going to keep me busy through the winter.

What a screw job.
