But, being overly conceited in the midst of your college recruitment experience at 18 doesn't mean you deserve to be left by your wife after 72 days 8 years later when he appears to be living a trouble free (in a legal and professional context) life.

it sucks for anyone to be in that situation.

It makes me sick for linking to this, but Humphries might not be the victim some think he is:

It was pretty much an arranged marriage right from the start. Kim was looking for a husband and Kris was selected for her, amongst others. She wasn't really into him but she hoped she would be able to develop some feelings, but it never happened. She was never particularly attracted to him...

The whole wedding was a total hoax and a publicity stunt. It was great for ratings and it was an amazing money maker. That's it though, period. Kris turned out to not be as malleable as everyone hoped he would be, he was pictured out partying with other girls, Kim really couldn't care less for him, she decided to end it.

That certainly lends credence to Wetpaint.com's report last week alleging that Kardashian initially eyed ex-New York Knick Danilo Gallinari to be her reality-TV partner -- before settling on Humphries. (Gallinari reportedly declined.)

Link.

Good for Gallinari, showing some proper judgment.

Interesting...

What's with the common theme of NBA players with this family?

(Odom, Mo Williams, Humphries...Gallinari?)

If these relationships really are calculated publicity stunts I wonder if the NBA is an easy target for either easily manipulated attention hounds (highly plausible.)

I like his rebounding ability. He would be a solid 4 if we could bring him in for the LLE? Probably not possible though.

Seventy-two whole days and she's back with Reggie Bush, (seen together today, I hear) ... this must be a record for her. (What a waste of an integumentary system). By the way, other than a sex tape and obscene pics to her credit, what did she ever do to deserve such fame? (I asked a similar question about Paris Hilton once, to no avail ... other than her humungous feet). File this topic under "Why Do We Care?" (rhetorical). :P

As much as I understand where your coming from, what does anyone do to deserve their fame?  Most people on this forum idolize men who make their living throwing a ball of leather through a metal ring.  If you're looking for role models that truly elevate the worlds consciousness, or improve the lives of later generations due to their innovations, very few of the people we consider "celebrities" measure up.

Really?!?

Oh, I personally think those guys who throw that ball through the ring are pretty amazing, and extremely gifted, or I wouldn't be here, frankly.

I also appreciate the talent it takes to be an accomplished actor, dancer, athlete, scientist, photographer, artist, or musician, (as I am one of the latter, and know the amount of hard work and dedication it takes to become such).

So I can't quite agree that most celebrities don't "measure up" in terms of worthiness, (though I do agree that the majority are compensated far beyond what they should be).

When comparing the Kardashians and Hiltons of the world to the above, I believe there's a clear demarkation between real talent and pure hype, and most people with any amount of grey matter can tell the difference. ;)

Yikes. So much for that theory.

Which begs the question, why are so many people lacking grey matter these days?

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa

I would attempt to answer your question, but I cant.  Evidently I am lacking gray matter.

If this thread goes much longer, I will be lacking gray matter, and I will be screaming.
