Most importantly, how is this going to affect Humphries' production on my points league team?  Maybe it will be a positive?

Sell!!! Sell!!!

Not so oddly, his product jumped from zero to pretty good as soon as he started dating her. I expect him to resume his role of 12th man now that KK has dumped him.

My Points League question; is there a way to get Kim to date Andres Biedrins??? After how Lamar and Humphries production rose while dating a Kardashian, I would expect Biedrins to start dropping 20/20s nightly.

That's awesome.  Awesome.

The NBA Lockout has been about double the length of their marriage (so far)

Hey, wait a minute!  I missed the wedding, do you want  me to miss the rest of her miserable life too?  After all, what are the alternatives?  Basketball games?  oh, wait...Cleaning house?  You gotta be kidding.  I know, maybe I  will learn to read....

Sad but true and entirely unsurprising.

The conversation went like this:
Kim: What do you mean you aren't getting a paycheck?  I can't be expected to stand in front of a camera all day doing nothing while you live off me.  You're out of here!.

Kris: but the lockout is ending soon.  they've almost agreed to all the terms.

Kim: I don't care.  You're a Net for crying out loud! What was I thinking.  Even Khloe landed a Laker!  I'm way hotter than my sister---I can at least land an All-Star talent!.  Hit the road you unemployed Jersey-boy.

The pubic (sic) story is that Kim didn't want to eventually move back to Minnesota (which Kris does).

In other news, Kim is requiring that all future suitors have a hard 'K' in front of their names in both sound and spelling. Kenyon Martin, Kenny Powers, and Kaptain Kirk all just got a lil exited.

Guess we have no shot of her coming to the Garden now that Kendrick was traded.  Oops, take that back.  KG still has a shot   ;)

KG is already married, and I bet his wife isn't quite as liberal with the meaning of the vows...just guessing...

I don't get the impression that would matter to her.

I'm guessing Kim saw that the Mid Level Exception is looking at a significant decrease and decided to walk.  :D

Seriously, I feel pretty bad for the guy. I'm assuming he went into this situation naively and trusted that this was legit.

After a career year averaging 10 and 10 in a contract season, the league enters a lockout resulting in a reduced MLE (probably his best case scenario) and a tighter salary cap. Then he gets dupped after 72 days of marriage and probably learned about it watching Ryan Seacrest on TV.

And (hat tip to my wife for the financials)he bought her a $2 million engagement ring that she'll be keeping. This reflected 62.5% of his gross NBA salary last year. SUNK COST.

Put into relative terms, imagine you make a healthy salary of $100K per year. You meet a girl who is clearly out of your league attractive and has a dicey reputation but you're so amazed that she's actually into you that you go all in and propose with a $62,500 engagement ring. You figure at the time that you had the best year of your career and are in line for either a big pay raise with your current company or will get a nice offer from someone else.

...cut to 3 months later.

Your industry is shut down and your coworker, who is seen as the foundation of your company (Deron Williams) is collecting a check in Turkey for 15% of his previous salary. Your best option is to spend the next few months in Serbia or Hong Kong, but you likely already passed up those opportunities to spend time with your now ex-wife.

Beyond that, the raise that you have been expecting is looking less and less likely as you follow the labor dispute that's keeping you out of work.

All you have left to show for presumably the most successful year of your adult life is the fact that you just spent 89% of last year's net income on an engagement ring for a 72 day marriage with no foreseeable opportunity to earn a paycheck in the near future.

Poor schmuck.

Poor schmuck.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy, if reports are to be believed:

Kris Humphries came on a visit and tried to commit. He really wanted to come here. But no one on the team liked Kris Humphries. He was arrogant. He told everyone he was going to come in and be the leading scorer as a freshman and that we’d all have to take a backseat to him. We were trying to be respectful and not say anything. But he was an absolute jerk. It was tough, because Roy was really excited about him. Kris Humphries was a big deal. He was a one-and-done or a two-and-done kind of player. Roy wanted him to commit on his visit. But we told him, "Coach, you can't bring this guy in. You can't do it." You'd figure Roy would say something like, “Let’s work on him,” or “Let’s give him another chance.” Instead he told Humphries, “Sorry, but you can’t come.”

Fair enough. I won't justify this referenced behavior. But I would bet plenty of 18 year old high school stars had that same mentality going through the college recruitment process.

Maturity and humble pie can work wonders on an attitude. Now, I'm not saying that I know enough about the guy to vouch for his current character...I don't.

But, being overly conceited in the midst of your college recruitment experience at 18 doesn't mean you deserve to be left by your wife after 72 days 8 years later when he appears to be living a trouble free (in a legal and professional context) life.

he may be a jerk and more than a bit naive to think she wouldn't pull this type of thing on him considering her track record with guys/publicity but all kidding aside, it sucks for anyone to be in that situation.

hopefully the prenup he signed required some sort of bad faith move on his part to be enforced and that such a move didn't occur.
