crunchy peanut butter. If you like chocolate covered pretzels and the whole sweet & salty mash up, try folding some crispy chopped bacon pieces in some crunchy peanut butter and spread it on toast or crackers. It's also a great addition to pb&j! I also like the bacon infused bourbon craze, as well as these two treats I've had in the last month: apple cake donuts w/maple frosting and candied bacon, and banana bread muffins w/ peanut butter cream cheese frosting and crumbled bacon.
I am not however crazy about chocolate covered bacon. It's just too rich.
As a chef, I use bacon to add fat to any meat that is low in fa to begin with to balance it out and add some depth of flavor and mouth appeal, i.e., wrapping boneless pork chops with bacon, chicken breast, liver, kidneys, boiled eggs, etc.. Wrap asparagus with it for a side dish, and as thanksgiving approaches, try slipping whole strips of thick cut raw bacon under the skin of your turkey breast before roasting--it bastes it with it's glorious fat, bastes the meat and keeps it from getting dry, as well as infusing a nice smokey flavor and aroma to the bird as though you cooked it on a grill.
