Personally, I think dragging the draft out over the course of a week would just make for an agonizing process. One or two people will still miss their draft time; others will milk the clock for as long as possible to make a trade.

Yea another downside, I could see a lot of time milking to wait for grandfather trades that never happen.

I believe our current one-day format is fine.

Mk
I see what you're saying, but I wish it didn't have to be during working hours so much. Maybe starting a little later in the day would be good

I agree with the starting later part. If we had the drafts in the evening it would work out much better for me as well.

Work hours are better for me. I have no evening hours unless we are talking from mid-night until 2am.

Mk
and that's why I suggested dragging it out. Everyone gets a chance

I see the drawbacks in drawing it out, I like the current format because it creates a sense of urgency that gets almost everyone back here after a really quiet summer and gets people in trading action. I worry that drawing it out will result in decreased activity and people waiting too long to get trade offers that they should not reasonably expect to get instead of having a set deadline to make trades in order to get draft picks or trade up/down/out of the draft.. Still, the method Eja brings up works really well in Redz long term fantasy bball keeper league. There are 12 GMs instead of 20 though.

I'm just annoyed because I've never been able to make a pick. I've always had to send in the list or just go with auto

I can undertand that, which is why I would be ok with a longer draft time as you suggested. I love the draft, it's by far the most active time of the year for the league and the easiest time to make moves. Missing it hurts your team imo (or helps your team if you make bad deals like I tend to do...)

Considering there was little controversy over the recent trade announcements, I think I can announce a follow up trade to one made yesterday:

Toine's Boys trade #20 pick
Utah Flash trade 2013 1st and and 2013 2nd rounders

Very fair for multiple reasons

If you hit on your top 3 picks and AK47/Green come back strong, you will be a force this season. Well done!

Thanks MK.  Definitely hoping to not finish in the cellar again this year.  Last year watching AK, Green, Manu, Bogut and Oden eat up roster spots for most of the year was tough but hopefully it starts to pay off now

Well, Oden is toast, but yea, I expect big numbers from Bogut, Manu, Green, and AK47 this year. You will be a force for years to come
