Wow!!  I'm a huge Rondo fan, but I was pleasantly surprised to see him ranked that high on ESPN's NBA player ranking.

Paul and KG were both somewhere in the low 20s, I think.  Ray was considerably behind.

Any thoughts?

I disagree with a lot of it.

Ray was in the 31-35 block.  Might be a little generous at this stage in his career.  Rondo is where he belongs, behind D-Rose, D-Will, CP3, Nash, and even Westbrook.  KG and Pierce were in the 21-25 block.  I think PP should be a little higher and KG should be lower.

Rondo wasn't really healthy after mid December, that must have lowered his ranking somewhat.

I disagree with a lot of it.

The only big disagreement I had was Manu over Pierce.

I don't agree with all the rankings.  My biggest Celtic snubs are Manu over Paul and Westbook over Rondo.  However, having 3 top 25 guys and another in the top 35 is still pretty impressive.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm laughing at Westbrook over Rondo. What a crock.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Love was to high

Westbrook was to high (for a guy being benched in the 4th quarter of a playoff game)

I still like Pierce better then Manu.

Aldridge is to low.  Bosh is to low.

and (as much as it pains me) LA Gasol is to low.

  • Rondo = Good
They have Melo and Amare way too high.  Haven't really paid attention to their rankings much, figured they wouldn't be worth the time.

Maybe Love isn't that good but he will be. Huge ceiling. He's dominating the boards already.

To me, Paul Pierce is the most underrated player in the league. Nuff said.

I wouldn't choose Love (#16) over a single one of those guys ranked 17-20 if I were starting a team.

If the Celtics had Kevin Love the rebounder...just the rebounder, not even the 20 point scorer. Just a guy that could snatch every rebound within 10 feet of him, they would have won the alst 2 championships.

Love's ability, akin to Rodmans in the 90's is vastly underrated. When you see him on a winning team in the playoffs swallowing up rebounds and getting his team extra scoring chances, it will be evident how valuable he is. Add to that the guy can shoot with range...wow.
