That's sad...I like him as a player..but those knees aren't going to allow him to be the player Portland had drafted...Wesley Mattews is their starter now...and a good one in his own right.

Probably, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does retire. He got a fair share of money and his knees really are shot, so who knows. It's too bad, he has a ton of talent.

Yeah - I don't think he wants to wind up on the Timberwolves or anything.  But (correct me if I'm wrong) amnesty or not, if he retires he doesn't get paid.  Seems unlikely in that case.

As much as it would hurt us I wouldn't mind seeing him going to the Bulls.  They'd be a great fit.

I'm not sure, but I think that if he gets amnestied he gets paid no matter what. If so, then retirement doesn't sound too bad. I heard the Bulls are hard after Affialo and Nick Young, although I'm not sure how they can get one of those guys.

My semi-gloating was directed at the Heat. In truth I think Pat Riley caused the hernia so he would have an excuse to amnesty Miller. That way he could use his MLE on another oft-injured player like Brandon Roy.
