Gotta keep the eye on the prize. A shortened season is just what the Celtics need. Not another 82 game season so we can collapse again.

a shortened season is fool's gold.

a short season will allow the better teams to play their stars longer knowing that they don't have to be as concerned with conserving their energy through a full season.

The one impact you can count on with a shortened season is that injuries will have a larger impact since a player missing 5-10 games will represent a larger percentage of a team's games where they may not be able to recover in the standings.

Absolutely NOT!!

As fans, we can not allow a shorter season.

I either want a full season (the way it should be) or no season at all.

Half a season is a half -as*ed solution.

I'd rather have an NBA season that starts in November, but if one that starts in January is the best I can get, I'll take it over no NBA basketball for an unforeseeable amount of time.

I've got a serious jones on.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Agreed, some basketball is definitely better than no basketball.  I also don't see any real benefit from a shorter season.  Any benefit of fewer games is wiped out by fewer off days that will be just as bad or worse on the old legs.

So, I for one am all in on my cheering for a complete season.

I want the whole season canned....  I want a MUCH lower Hard Salary Cap.... I want all the teams to make money and be on an equal playing field.

I want marginal players to get paid marginal money.  If they fail to perform they can be cut and NOT be paid.  No guaranteed contracts at all because 90% of the players in this league have proven that they quit trying when they get their money.

Shorter season most likely means much more back to back and something along the lines of 3 games in 4 nights or 5 in 7.

Not exactly the best conditions for an aging squad much like the Celtics.

in general i like the idea of a shorter season, less games, easier to watch them all, and players would play harder more consistently. only downside would be less money for players/ owners/ etc but why would i care about that?

Hopefully if that happens Doc will finally play the bench more.

The last thing I'm fine with is a shorter season ... as childish as it may sound, I want my Celtics. I have a hard enough time with Celtics withdrawal during the summer, and the winter is long enough with basketball ... nothing short of an entire regular season and playoff run will satisfy my green blooded cravings.

if anything, I think a shortened season would help us retain our bench FA's like Glen Davis and Jeff Green which IMO is important to our championship hopes...as we are going to rely on our bench more.

with GM's having to wade through the new cap and sign FA's in a shortened Off-season...I doubt they are going to take flyers on guys like Jeff Green/Glen Davis/west....that leaves us signing a vet wing or two and then pick up some centers and were good to go.

also means more time for Rondo and our starters to rest....as we saw the beginning of last year..with a healthy rondo we can be hard to stop...

and maybe Doc will finally decide to rest the starters more and give more playtime to guys like Bradley, Green, davis which will give us more cohesion in the playoffs

I'd like a shortened season, but with the same back 2 back rules that have been in place. 3 games in 3 nights would not be good for us.

I think we'd get a pretty low seed if it plays out like the 98 lockout.
