Tomorrow Jared Dudley and Joe Abunassar’s Impact Basketball's Vegas league rosters will be released. With the "two-week competitive training series" streaming online free for the public, I'm looking forward to this, even if it's light on franchise players.

Over 50 NBA players have already committed to play reportedly on eight teams of eight, including Chauncey Billups, Stephen Curry, Rudy Gay, Stephen Jackson, Tayshuan Prince, Zach Randolph and John Wall, as well as Celtics, O'Neal and Bradley.

The young players.

My main interest is in the young players who haven't received much playing time and/or are too low down in the pecking order at their clubs to show their talents. For example, someone like Terrico White. He didn't play last year for Detroit and I missed his summer league games last year. Never seen him play. It sounds like he has an interesting combination of size (6-5, 210lbs), athleticism and skills. I'd love to see him play and get a feel for what he is capable of.

Also very interested in seeing what young players have improved their games since we last saw them in the NBA. To see who may be able to take a big step up next year. John Wall is obviously the main guy here. Excited to see him in this environment. With his flair and athleticism, he should be one of the stars of the tourney.

Oh and the rookies. Jordan Hamilton in particular. Nice early opportunity to see whether they can be expected to contribute next year ... or not.

So ESPN has rosters and the schedule.

But no streaming on Day 1, and possibly Week1, so we have to rely on A. Sherrod Blakely in the stands for the Avery Bradley scouting report.

Quote
Bradley had 16 points, but his team lost 102-86.

Quote
Bradley up and down. Missing shots he shouldn't miss. Defense so-so, at best. Hopefully he'll play better tomorrow.

Ha. Those must have been two ugly misses. Where did you find the boxscore?

  • Rondo = Good
Judging by the numbers some of the players are putting up (especially the 30-10's by Austin Daye and JJ Hickson, and the near trip-dub by the 5'8'' Isiah Thomas), the statistics from this league don't mean much at all.
