First it was Jersey Shore. Now it's "The White Mamba." Months after the crazies from the popular MTV show invaded the fine country of Italy, another popular American figure is seeking residence in the country that looks like a boot. Brian Scalabrine is on tryout with Italian club Benetton Treviso for a few weeks with the goal to make the team this upcoming season.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm sure (if he makes the team, that is) that he'll be a fan favorite.

We don't talk seriously bout how well Scal was for us after the championship year.
A real glue guy and fan fav(whether or not it was for tease or what) When you saw Scal out there, we were most likely in a blowout game or garbage time.

Minus the recurring concussions, add him to the list of "prolly should've considered keeping"
Can't stop, Rondo!

I'm willing to bet he'll dominate all of Europe while he's over there.  They've never seen a player the likes of 'Air Intangibles.'

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Brian 'The victory cigar' Scalabrine. Good luck pal.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Scals is pretty much the ULTIMATE 13-15th man.  I don't know what more you could ask for.  Somehow he was always able to contribute even if he hadn't seen the court in the past 30 games.  He had an elite mindset that you almost never see in end of bench players they typically just come in and make mistakes until they sit back down.  Scals is one of a kind.

Unfortunately keeping him wouldn't have done anything.  He's simply not a difference maker (although he might've made a difference in our shattered locker-room)

Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Just a tryout. He might not actually make the team.
