Jeff Green, Big Baby, and Avery Bradley to 76ers

Maurice Speights, Thaddeus Young and Andres Nocioni

Green and Young on qualifying offers. Davis on a 2yr/4mil per.

Add in a 2nd round pick if need be, but talent wise its a fair trade. Noc is nothing more than a contract on the bench there.
76ers get a running mate to pair with Iggy and Holiday. BBD as a vet 6th man, and Bradley in upgraded but similar role as he's had.

Thad has more of an attack the rim attitude than Green, Speights gets a chance to start and produce, and Noc plays the backup PF behind KG
Can't stop, Rondo!

Why would Philly do this?

They like the role Young plays for them.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Why would we do this?

Jeff Green is a proven 15 ppg force in the league, Big Baby gave us amazing years and has great chemistry with the team, and Bradley seems like he could become a better Tony Allen.

Speights is a solid role player, but I don't see him on the same par as Big Baby, Nocioni would not be a good target if we were to rebuild. If we were going to try to win it all, why would we trading for potential good players? Young for Green is questionable, but otherwise isn't.
I like Marcus Smart

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
How bout those 3 for Iguodala?
throw in a pick somewhere too and we take on his contract.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I like giving those 3 + J.O. Iggy + Thad + Speights.  This works since Iggy replaces Green, and shares the 2 backup with delonte.  Thad replaces big baby (wonderful), and we lose J.O., but we get Speights who doesn't have an injury history and with minutes can produce.  Signing someone like Pryzbilla would give us a pretty hefty team.  Great depth 1-4, and all right on the 5 spot...

I think talent-wise its a win for Philly. They seem like they've lost pateince with SPeights.

I don't think this deal would go down, but I like Speights as a target.  I think he could be an excellent, relatively cheap guy to pick up, who has a chance to be a legit NBA big man.

But their coach really likes what Young brings their team.

I would do the trade.  I think Young and Green are very close talent wise, but Young would be a better fit.  Speights brings more size because you can replace Baby with another of the many talented undersized PFs out there.

Maybe if he learns how to put any effort whatsoever into his defense.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • Rondo = Good
Thaddeus Young > Jeff Green

Big Baby > Speights BUT Speights' potential >>>>> BBD.

With Lou Williams and Jrue Holliday (not to mention Jodie Meeks and Evan Turner), the Sixers don't need Avery.

Trade makes no sense.

I would like getting Iguodala, but is there a way we could  get Spencer Hawes too? Potential DH12 backup?

I'm interested in Speights. Baby for Speights could be good for all parties involved.

Someone mentioned in this thread that Philly is tired of Speights and Philly is a young team who could do with some championship experience.

Baby wants a bigger role and chances are, he would never get one here and would possibly get a decreased role in Boston as we get better bigs. Perhaps he could play a big role in Philly's future playoff runs.

Speights can improve in Boston under the tutelage of the vets. Boston could use youth, length and potential.

Everyone else, I am not interested in. Jeff Green could only go up from here and he has had experience playing with us.
