Sounds like he wants to be back with or without the lost season.  I'm not sure about the KG part though as Kevin strongly hinted the opposite last year.

I like Ray's chances.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Well, I could see them both coming back for 2012-2013 for one last chance.  And it wouldn't be a bad thing, either.  That'd mean by the summer of 2013, KG and Ray would be off the books and PP would only have one year left.

The only reason not to do that would be if Danny is convinced he can nab a top free agent in 2012.  However, if the NBA is serious about lowering the cap and reducing salary, our chances are probably even smaller, as Pierce and Rondo will already put them at 27-28 million themselves.

If they actually agree to a hard cap, there's no need for cap holds so they could sign a big FA and then resign KG and Ray if they're willing to resign for cheap.  that might be the sticking point to keeping them --> even at their advanced ages, they're still worth much more than a vet min contract and they may expect to be paid accordingly

I'm guessing this will have a Favre-like affect on KG.  His family probably wants him to retire, and he will probably want to.  But if he misses a season, he will have that fire burning inside of him to go compete more.  He has all of his life to not play in the NBA.

If Rayray can still start at his age, then he still has many years to go as a 6th man and role player. Tell me you can't see Ray still playing at least 15-20mins a night in 3 years? Even if he's 7th or 8th man. I don't know any team that would say no. KG though, it seems he wants to quit when he's on top. He doesn't want to stay around for rebuilding with the Celtics and he made it very clear he won't play for another team.

Become Legendary.

I don't see Ray offering that strong of an opinion about KG unless he's got reason to think it.
