I didn't read anything about Rondo getting into any trouble ... you might want to remove his name from the title thread, (or provide a link to the article that's about him) ... doesn't seem right to drag his name, (or Jackson's), through the mud if this was just about Perk.

It was in the MTO article, which this site won't allow me to link to. Media Take Out. Look it up.

With that said, I am going to edit the title. I just read the Globe article which clearly says that no other NBA players were with him.

MTO is a trash site.  I'd take anything written there with a gigantic grain of salt.  Such as their "Both Kendrick and Rondo were nearly MURDERED last night" headline.

That's why I posted the link to the Globe story and changed the title of the thread. I had never heard of MTO before yesterday.

How credible can these articles be if they are calling Kendrick Perkins an NBA "star"....

On a serious note.  How can anybody be surprised when one of the nastiest SOB's on the court ends up not being a big softy off of the court, especially after more then a few cocktails in a crowded nightclub well after midnight?

Well, Perk is supposed to be a great guy, very nice and friendly off the court according to many players and friends of his. I think it's possible that a guy who takes it all out on the floor might have had some built up anger that he can't direct towards basketball now that there is a lockout, so he exploded after getting a few drinks in.

Perk made a mistake and let some folks down, but he'll recover. This is just a speedbump in the road for him.

I have no doubt that he'll bounce back from this.

I just think it's interesting that everyone is convicting Perkins.  What happened to hearing both sides of the story?  Apparently Perkins says that the cops' version of what happened is wrong...

"on Sunday, Perkins' attorney, Langston Adams of Port Arthur, issued a statement to Fox 4 saying that Perkins maintains his innocence.

Adams says his office is conducting its own investigation into the matter, in addition to the investigation being conducted by the Beaumont police department.

Adams says Perkins is recovering at home from injuries he received from officers during the arrest.

Perkins claims one of the officers hit him in the leg with a baton.

Adams says witnesses at the scene tell a different story from police.  He says some of the witnesses have offered cell phone video and recordings of the incident."

I'm not convicting Perk of anything.  I just think that this idea that Perkins is completely opposite off the court compared to the guy we see on the court might be a bit of a media creation.  I'm not saying he is a criminal or a thug, only that chances are he also isn't the lamb off the court that some of you seem to think he is.  He has shown a mean streak on the court and that is something most people cannot turn on and off by putting on a uniform.
