Mark Cuban to be in Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie

  I thought it was interesting to see Mark Cuban listed on the cast of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar movie.

For those of you who don't know, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim had a couple of shows on Adult Swim: Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

Both of these shows are a acquired taste and it took a few times watching TEASGJ before my brain started to wire into the surreal and dreamlike state of the show. Tim and Eric also tend to make the viewer uncomfortable in every way possible by using taboo innuendos and deliberately breaking the rules of comedy.

Overall, it grows on you. Regular guest stars include Jeff Goldblum, Zach Galifinakis and Weird Al Yankovic.

I really can't stand Tim and Eric.  I guess I just don't get them.  I generally find the things on Adult Swim funny / entertaining, even ATHF (which is also an acquired taste), but I've never understood the appeal of Tim and Eric.

But I'm sure plenty of people feel the same about the British shows like The Mighty Boosh, Look Around You, and Garth Merengi's Dark Place, all of which I find at least fairly amusing.

I like Look Around You also. I'm a sucker for absurdity anyway though.

Its completely understandable not getting Tim and Eric. I didn't at first either to be perfectly honest. I caught a few sketches making me wonder what in the heck was wrong with them and found the appeal to keep coming back to see what ridiculous absurd thing they were going to do next.

I will say this - One episode per week for an 11 minute show makes it difficult to get a good following. Especially when its as random and short segmented as T&E are. Watching one season at a time (approx. 2 hrs.) and you can actually see mini story lines progressing however weird they may be.

Like I say, I enjoy the surrealism, dreamlike nature and the overall parody and satire of American television.

It's called anti-comedy for a reason.  I just assume that it is an outlet for those who hate people who like predictable, mainstream comedy.

So, it's for the comedic equivalent of foreign film snobs.  And also potheads.
