A lot of guys trying to earn a spot tonight ... these early games can be very exciting for that reason, (or very sloppy). ;)

Nice play by Cunningham ... more of that, please. There's been very little pressure on Gabbert.

Talk about an inauspicious start ... Hernandez coughs it up on the first offensive play. Ouch.

Fairly typical pre-season game to this point. I'd like to see Gronkowski get a call or two, and maybe 8-5. Heckuva shot Hoyer took.

So what does everyone think of the "Review of every scoring play" rule this year?

If you are going to add something like this, you should probably get rid of the post-punt or post-kickoff commercials...game has no flow in person.

Hoyer and Ridley running the two-minute offense very well here ... hard to do, let alone with a rookie.

Great piece on Myra Kraft ... an amazing woman, and so loved and respected within the Patriots organization, and among anyone who knew her improtance to this team. She will be missed, indeed.

Interested to see how Mallet does ... should be a dropoff in passing yards in the second half ... maybe a lot of slants and screens.

Price, Ridley and Mallet looking really good out there... of course, it's just pre-season.

Ridley earned himself a roster spot tonight ... if there was one outstanding "difference-maker" in this one, it was him. Hoyer looked great, Mallet, Price, Medlen, Cunningham, Farnham, and a bunch of defensive rookies as well. Very nice outing ... very encouraging. This is going to be an exciting year for Patriots fans.

Major observation from the game.....enshrine Ridley in the HOF now.  Waive the waiting period. It doesn't even matter if he gets hurt for the rest of his career. He has contributed enough to the game already.  To deny this is just being a hater.

I love the Brady benching.

My impressions I need to bounce off of people.

Brandon Tate needs to hire a hit man to kill Taylor Price in his sleep.....he took my job!

Nate Solder did fine.

Ryan Mallet might jusssttt be getting really good Aaron Rogers style riiigghhtt as that girl with the long hair and Yankees hat at QB is retiring

The team has added more Dlinemen than God. Seriously.  If you were to bump into a random Patriots player there's a 125% chance it's a d lineman.  If the D line is bad this year I get the feeling some coach with emotions might just throw up his hands and be like "Well I tried! I tried [dang it]! Ok? I tried!"

There are lots and lots of great young players on the Pats that really think they can get a roster spot that won't.  This will be the greatest practice squad ever fully capable of beating other actual teams.

Blaine Gabbert didn't look too bad considering

Hoyer is a really good QB against backups in the preseason on horrid teams. I like the kid

Darryl Richard making a strong push for the practice squad

Matt Slater. I forgot he existed
