if any of these guys could come to the celtics for the Min, that would be great. we need someone to relieve ray, and Michael redd or Grant hill could do just that..

i'd lean more towards grant hill personally. hes been more durable over his last 4 years in phoenix...either he or Redd could provide scoring off the bench, knocking down some 3's...

Delonte/Grant hill(or michael redd)/Green/BBD/kwame brown

would be a really good 2nd unit if danny can pull off something like that

Sounds like we're shopping off the Heat's wishlist:

If the Heat cannot sign preferred choices Shane Battier, Grant Hill or Tayshaun Prince postlockout, Miami will consider Michael Redd and Tracy McGrady, among others.

Grant Hill would be a good "bridge" player, for sure.

Both are looking for veterans that can come in on short deals that a capped out team with few assets can afford after all....

Can't see anyone on this list taking anyone outside of maybe Redd taking the minimum.

And that would mean we'd sign BBD. Not sure whose available for bigs, so I can't say if I'm for or against that.

Of the mentioned names, I agree that Redd will probably have to take the minimum.  Hill might, as well, if he wants a chance at a ring; he doesn't strike me as a guy who needs money.  Also, we have the Marquis Daniels' trade exception and possibly the bi-annual exception, which Hill might be intrigued by.

But I'd imagine there's enough contending teams that'd want Hill where he'd be able to get the best of both worlds.

Yeah, it could be, although I expect that Miami is going to throw their full MLE at Dalembert (if there still is a full MLE), and then try to target wing guys with their other exceptions.

I'm curious to see who Chicago targets before next season (whenever that is).

Boston, Miami, Chicago, Orlando, San Antonio and OKC make a lot of sense for Hill.

None of those teams can offer more than the MLE.  IMO, those teams priorities are to try to use their MLE on:

Boston - center
Miami - center
Chicago - scoring/shooter SG
Orlando - SG or PF.  I suppose anything but center and PG though.  This team is a mess and i expect huge trades to go down this offseason or regular season in a last ditch effort to appease Dwight.
SA - pretty balanced squad.  as they are a fiscally wise team heading into rebuilding in a couple years, i doubt they give MLE for more than 1 or 2 years.  that could be right up grant hill's alley, and SA could use a backup SF.
OKC - won't pay MLE money for a guy who's gonna play 8 min per game

Does Miami need any more wings?  Don't they already have Wade, Lebron, James Jones, and Mike Miller?  OK, I just checked and they don't have James Jones.  I'm really interested to know what's going on with him and why he suddenly was removed from the rotation in the Finals.  Good defender and shot 46% from downtown during the playoffs until he got yanked.  Not to mention single-handedly beat the celtics one game.

Prince will want more than MLE most likely.
Hill prolly stays in Phoenix unless Nash gets traded
Redd would be my ideal target. Lefty sharp shooter off a max contract needing to prove himself for one more decent pay day*

*Look at McGrady. He didn't get another big contract, but he proved that a player like that even after injury can step in an contribute in more ways than one(Iverson is another story)

Kwame Brown is another player that should work for the vet min, or maybe bi annual exp if it exists.
Save the Mid lvl for a PF/C like Kenyon Martin or Carl Landry

Rondo, West, Bradley
Ray, Redd, EMoore
Pierce, JGreen
KG, KMart, JuJohnson
Kwame, JOneal
Can't stop, Rondo!

I don't get it. These guys would make tons of sense if we hadn't made the Jeff Green trade, but I think we're going to have to spend most of our money on bigs. Also, if Doc and Ainge supposedly want to expand Green's role, where are the minutes for Hill/Redd/Prince/etc going to come from?
