http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4686065/wafer-inks-deal-with-italian-team

main qoutes from the article

"Von Wafer has agreed to a deal to play for Italian team Vanoli Cremona, according to his agent. Wafer, an unrestricted free agent who spent the 2010-11 season with the Celtics, secured a coveted opt-out clause and will be able to return stateside should the lockout end during the international season."

"Von would love to be back [with Boston]," Doyle said of the 6-foot-5 swingman who has played for seven teams since being drafted by the Lakers in the second round (35th overall) of the 2005 draft. "He's never gotten that opportunity to go back with a team."

though he has a opt out clause im not sure if he'll get anything better here in the us. might as well develop his game over seas where i can see him getting minutes

Didn't his game drop after going overseas for a year?

I think Von has a place somewhere in the NBA.  Above average jump shot + above average athleticism, and this year he proved he can play on the other end of the court too.  All he needs is consistency.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'd rather see Von Wafer come back than Marquis.

I think it will be a great chance for him.  Retain the team game and defensive work that he got while playing with celtics and see if he can put his whole game together with playing time.  If he goes back to the selfish me first and not working thing than let him stay

I think I'd rather Marquis, but we don't know how he is post-injury.
