The combination of the lock out and the heat can do funny things to people. Can't believe I am starting a Robert Swift thread. What is it with this  guy anyway?

Honestly, if he is healthy (and off the roids), I think he would be a very interesting guy to bring in.  Before he went crazy with the "weightlifting", and consequently couldn't stay healthy, he really did look like a quality player.

Shoot me now!  I was soooo angry when Seattle drafted him, Nick Collison, and Luke Ridnour.

Smh, Ray never had a chance

The Celtics are so desperate for a center. Leave no stone unturned.

I agree.  He has become a joke around here, but I always liked him.

Some day, I'll understand the recycling mentality of this board - whether it be the annual "Bring back Gerald Green" threads, Paddy O'Blount or the attempt here to exhume the rotting, fetid corpse of Bob Swift's career.

This isn't the day.

Danny was wrong - dead wrong - on Robert Swift, as he was on Green, as he was on the stiff O'Bryant, etc.

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Aside from the fact that Seattle was pretty high on Swift before his knee injury, it's a little harsh to talk about Danny being "dead wrong" about a player that he never drafted or signed to a contract. One could even argue he wasn't "dead wrong" about Green, as he got what he wanted from the pick, a piece to include in a trade for a veteran to team up with Pierce.

nononononononono...no please dont mention him.

his, and the "other" are names that dare not be spoken. they infect any and all threads that discuss anything in the recent celtic past...

turning the thread into a never ending recycling of baseless assertions, wishful thinking, and groundless hopes of players past and bad coaching that ruins potential.

sigh.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Worth a shot at the minimum.  Who knows, maybe he'll shock the world.
