Does anyone think/hope this is a sign that the lockout will end before the season begins?

Or is this just business as usual, regardless of the lockout?

I would've though as long as the lockout continued, that no scheduled games for next season would be announced.

Just business as usual.  Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be having a season, which is especially unfortunate for us given that KG and Ray may have played their last game in Green.

As meaningless as releasing the schedule for the 2015-2016 season.

Haha.  Yeah, that was going to be my joke, as well.  This schedule isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Opening Night:

Bulls @ Heat
Lakers @ Mavericks - Mavs get their rings

Opening Game for Celtics: @ MSG vs the Knicks

Christmas Day Games:

Nets @ Knicks
Mavericks @ Heat
Thunder @ Lakers
Wizards @ Magic
Warriors @ Blazers

EDIT: Its confirmed that its Bulls @ Mavericks on opening night
Let's Go Celtics!!

I long for the days when the announcement of the schedule would be happily welcome news to break up the monotony of the offseason. Sniff come back basketball please.

I too usually couldn't wait for this day. I know for a fact that they usually release it much later than July 19th (usually first week of August?).

It should be interesting to see if they backload marquee games in anticipation of a delayed start to the season. If it is business as usual with great matchups littered all over, you know this schedule is worthless.

Does anyone remember in '99 if they made new schedules for the 50-game season or did they just play whatever was scheduled? I would think because of season ticket holders they just played the games originally scheduled, but then again, come February, some teams have played as many as 3-4 games more than others.

Ugh, I realllllly hope we don't lose a whole season. I already miss basketball and it will be really sad if we are watching the Olympics before NBA games.

Had been planning to travel to the US and see the opening game of the season plus a couple more. Can't afford to take that risk now though :'(

I would think because of season ticket holders they just played the games originally scheduled, but then again, come February, some teams have played as many as 3-4 games more than others.

They made a new schedule trying to cram as many games in as possible.  There were some 3 games in 3 nights for all teams, and 7 games in 9 nights.

Go to basketball-reference and look at some teams schedules from '99, it looks like a baseball schedule in terms of how many games they played a week.  Two days off in a row was very rare.

Yea that schedule they had looks atrocious and giving the fact that if there's a shorten season for the Celtics, an aging team that generally don't play well the second night of back-to-backs as it is can struggle dearly playing 7 games in 9 nights for instance.
Let's Go Celtics!!
