So if I understand this right it looks like either Cincinnati or Louisville is going to a BCS bowl game and Stanford isn't.  RIght?  Maybe I'm wrong, but still.  Just ew. I hate the BCS. Just horrid for the game.

It is. The Big East shouldn't have an automatic bid and LSU and Alabama should not play for the national tittle.

Eja117,

I totally agree.  Ok. St. deserves their shot!!  I am SICK of the BCS.  What a joke!!!!  Let's just take the human factor out as much as we can and let the two teams with that are 1 and 2 on the Sagarin computer rankings play for the title, period.  Yes, Jeff Sagarin designed the model, but it has been around for years and is reliable and valid.  Polls are popularity contests, and have NO part determining who plays for the national title!

I agree.  I don't want a rematch of LSU and Bama.  I don't see LSU losing to OK St or Bama, but still, give me something new.  I'd expect ratings would be down in the BCS championship if it is a rematch, hopefully that will make the NCAA see some changes are needed.
do it

hopefully that will make the NCAA see some changes are needed.

I don't understand why we can't have a Plus-1 system.  It seems like an extraordinarily easy fix.  It doesn't solve everything, but it improves the system.

As for Bama vs. OKSU, I guess I lean toward Bama.  They killed everyone on their schedule, except for the #1 team in the country, who they played to a standstill.  I know LSU vs. Alabama was a defensive struggle, and to some a boring game.  However, it showed that the teams are extremely, extremely close.  If LSU is the #1 team in the country, Alabama is very close behind them.

OKSU, on the other hand, played several close games, and they lost to a mediocre team.  They played an amazing game against Oklahoma, but they have a very bad loss on their resume.  That just has to count for more than Alabama's overtime loss against the best team in the country.

I'm a little tired of the BCS as an extension of the SEC.  SEC teams basically never play anyone good outside their conference. LSU beat Oregon.  Georgia got beat at home by Boise St.  After that all they ever do is beat up on Sun Belt teams and D1AA teams.  Can't say I'm impressed by the SEC.  Boise St had a loss to TCU. No SEC team (outside LSU this year I guess) would ever dare put TCU on the schedule. Well Georgia sorta did. And they of course got beat. At home. You'll see. They'll do ok in their bowls.  But there will be some bowl losses too. They're just another conference that's overhyped.

they announced the Heisman finalists. Surprised the Honey Badger got in there when he was suspended a game for drugs

Surprised both Kellen Moore and Case Keenum didn't get in.

Wow. Ohio St will be allowed 2 coaching staffs through their bowl game. Never heard of that before although they say it can be normal.

I guess Fickel will coach the team and Meyer will recruit
