You know what, I wish I hadn't submitted my ballot yet, because if I did I'd change my vote.

I was really so torn between Portland and Utah.  And it seems that at least 2 other GMs have been equally torn and both also voted for Portland.  So, now here I am.  I'm campaigning to any GM who is also torn, vote for Utah.  If there are 4 people who think it's as close as I do, I'd like to see Utah get at least 1/4 of those "split" votes.

Sorry, IP!  haha  You got my vote at least

From my perspective, the jazz are a very good team. The blazers are a very good team.

The blazers should win if you take 3 things as truth;
1) that the performance Amare gave in game 1 of the playoffs is something he could replicate or at least give a decent facsimile of against an aging kg in 4 or more of 7 games.
2) that the performance Lowry gave last year after the allstar break and against baron Davis (22 and 29% shooting!) is the level of play that we can expect from Lowry going forward.
3) that James harden that we saw in the playoffs for okc is the real James harden
4) that carlos delfino is good enough to make pierce work on offense for his points. I'm not talking 40% or worse shooting, I'm talking like pierce explodes for 1 game and mostly gets his 20pts and 48% or so from the field.

If those 4 precepts are true, blazers win. Between the undeniable advantage defensively and offensively I have at cerer when al Jeff is in the game, and my very capable role players, that's a blazers win, especially with home court. If you don't believe those 4 precepts and you think baron Davis and Caron butler and al Jefferson and thabo are suitable
standins for ray Allen Tony Allen Ramon rondo and Kendrick Perkins, then it's a jazz win.

And I'm not even arguing that...I am exhausted mentally from arguing with Kane, I have never seen a more tenacious gm, and I had to go through both nick and rondo last year, who are bulldogs and stubborn believers in their teams as well.

No joke intended on the bulldogs.

And action, I know it was you. You broke my heart. YOU BROKE MY HEART!!!

Jeez, I might have to play again next year just to re-exert my dominance over IP's squads.

Well roy in defense, it is a different kind of arguing. Kane is more rocky against drago. Just doesn't quit, keeps on, and doesn't let a comment go unanswered. You're more young Tyson.

But if I can change, and you can change, than we can change. Adriannnnn n n n

Lol I told you I play to win.  ;D

No lie though. This match-up literally made me tired. All I want to do is lay down, watch tv, and not think. Haha

If you two are tired now....ummm....wait to see how tired you are tomorrow if Sactown gets through.

IP I have been preparing for Portland vs Sacramento since I saw we were both in the same conference.

You sure Duncan even shows up for this series after what happened to him against Z-Bo and Gasol last April?

 ;D

Yes. He'll be out for revenge.  ;D

Blazers, easily

mgent, you've been very vocal of your dislike for the Pacers throughout this game (the only one I've particularly noticed), so your vote does not surprise me, but I didn't see you make any comments in the matchup thread.  Do you care to give your reasons for why you think NYK will beat the Pacers and give me a fighting chance to change your mind?  :)  Or care to take a gander of the matchup thread (its only 2 pages) and bring some discussion into there of why you think we'll lose?  Perhaps reading it will sway you or maybe I can respond to an opinion of yours that might.
Haven't been around much today, check out my matchup thread.  I think Williams isn't going to have a problem scoring on your defense.  I think Deng will limit Gay more than Gay will limit Deng.  I think Duncan is a more experienced and better leader than anybody you have.  I also think the Knicks' bench is better.

I don't think I've been THAT hard on the Pacers, I had them 3rd.  Just so happens I had the Knicks 2nd.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

This makes it sound as if my team needs to be the 2010 Celtics to Beat your team...

That Celtics team would sweep and crush this Portland team without question. You also discount my bench who are all playing a lot of minutes. Jamal Crawford's impact was overlooked and I feel Haywoods likely was as well.

1) even the 2010 celtics with a healthy Shaquille oneal won't sweep my blazers

2) you're overestimating how good baron Davis, thabo, and the non-celtics are and you're underestimating how important the roles rondo, ray, and Perkins have been this year. Look how easily the heat dispatched the celtics without a strong inside man (which Jo was not...he was better than we expected, but not so much so that it compensated), and a hobbled rondo. Now, I don't have a 2some as good as wade/lebron but my team is infinitely more balanced and strong everywhere else.

Without the pass first playmaker with all NBA defense quality and the sharpshooters around the post, the dynamics change. Good team, yes....but not as good as mines

I was gonna count up these votes, but screw it. My contacts are out, I'm sleepy, and I can barely see the screen. I'll get them out before 10am tomorrow, promise.
