Brandon Hunter, a 6'7" forward kinda built like Charles Barkley. Wasn't a superstar, but I remember he hustled and pulled down about 15 boards once or twice, something like that. He didn't last long with the Cs and was taken by Charlotte in their expansion draft.

Hey, is that Milt Palacio in the Toronto jersey there too?!

For no apparent reason I remember a guy named Marcus Webb who played like 9 games for the C's or something and then got waived because he got arrested for domestic assault.

Another name is Tony Harris who once scored over 100 points in some greek league and played a few games for us in the 90's.

Two others that I thought would contribute alot were Blue Edwards and Todd Day but they are more household names than obscure names.

Another random player was Marty Conlon.  He was just so goofy looking!

Marty was the first guy I thought of when I read the OP.

Another: Bret Szabo.

Obviously, I will go with my namesake on this blog: Fred Roberts

I remember the crew cut and the uninspiring play off the bench at some point in the 80's.

Charlie Scott...remember mostly the lv/hate relationship by the fans for Scott because he was drafted in'70 by the Celtics after having a great college career at UNC opted to go play in the ABA for the Va.Squires instead...after playing a few seasons in the ABA he ended up coming into the NBA where he played for the Suns. After three successful seasons in Phoenix Scott was traded to the Celtics where he helped win the 1975-76 championship.

Anybody remember Stoijko Vrankovic?

10 years from now, we'll be having a thread like this about Chris Johnson or Lester Hudson.

yeah, the tall guys always stick out for obvious reasons - Stoijko and Bruno Sundov are two more that I will always remember

(my olden days when I was younger)

Michael Smith....I remember going to a game and watching him hit about 10 3's in a row from out of bounds in warm ups...proof that even the worse scrubs can play ball...or at least shoot.

Mark Acres
Darren Daye

Was watching classic NBA dunk contest recently and Dina Radja was there...I used to love him...(not really random though)

More Recent:

Steve Hamer
Kris Clack

But if I had to choose one guy it would be Bryant Stith. There were some pretty random guys back then Chris Heren, Randy Brown... Back at the time I thought Stith was going to be awesome coming from Denver...

A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

A lot of the same guys others have mentioned but I just thought of this one:

Danny Fortson

Don't remember too many specifics. Just that he was very very wide and didn't really seem to care about winning

Ronald Glen Davis? Some guy we traded for on draft night, had a few good games and a one good playoff season. Hit a game winner as well. But after that he kinda disappeared.  :D

Too Soon? haha

this is more recent and high profile, but isn't it odd that Darius Miles played for the Celtics (briefly)?

Not that random, but I still wonder how a guy with such a sweet jumper and as Bilas would say "jumpability" could lazy his way out of the league so quick.  Overall I would give him 9.5 out of 10.  ;)
