No thanks.

It isn't talked about much, but, I have a feeling Thabeet is going to end up a worse draft bust than even Kwame Brown.

I didn't realize until just now, when I looked at Thabeet's numbers, that he's been so bad in his two seasons. As much as Kwame Brown gets made fun of, his numbers (from last season and for his career) are distinctly better than Thabeet's. I guess I'd rather have Kwame.

I realize that Boston won't have much room for signing free agents, but there's gotta be one or two serviceable bigs whom the Celtics can sign on the cheap -- to play a few minutes a game to spell JO and KG, and to take up space and grab a few rebounds. Somebody on here mentioned Gadzuric, and it seems he'd fill the bill: 6-11, 240, averages about 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds a game for his career. There always seems to be plenty of scrubs like him in the league, but for some reason Boston's had a hard time landing these guys -- you know, unspectacular-but-solid 5-minute-a-game guys to take up some space.

Should the Celtics go for Hasheem Thabeet since we need a big center?

I've never seen a player move as slowly up and down the court as Thabeet.

I'll take Kwame if we can get him on the cheap. He's never played with players of the magnitude of the C's core four. Put him out there with them, and his defense will definitely hold it's own and will find easy buckets like Perk always did.

I don't think he would be all that different from Perk, other than unfamiliarity with the system and teammates.

Then bring in someone else for insurance who can also play the 4. Murphy will fill that role just fine.

There are two options that can be had relatively cheap. Dalembert would be great, but who knows what he's gonna do.

I'm not trading someone like Green for a C because while solving one problem, will create another one just as big.

The only answers to the C dilemma are through FA or a blockbuster trade.

I actually like the idea of getting Diop better than Thabeet.  Problem is he make  6+ mil this year and has a player option for next year at 7 million which would wreck the cap.  too bad it's not a team option since I bet Charlotte would trade him for a trade exemption and a bag of basketballs just to save the money.
