Glen Davis is hoping for a return to the Celtics.

“Man, I do,” Davis said yesterday. “Do you know how much I’ve grown and learned with those guys? I want to keep playing with Ray (Allen) and Paul (Pierce) until they leave.

“I’m preparing like it’s any other summer, because you never know with the CBA,” Davis said. “As soon as that deal is done, free agents are going to be going like crazy to get signed. But there’s no way to gauge what (a contract) is worth.”

I don't buy this at all.  This'll be the case if it plays out like two years ago.

He likely killed his chances at a big contract so he wants to stay in boston for another year. Id have him back. We need bigs and if he can play his role he can be effective for us

You know I am starting to get torn on Big Baby, If he can play the way he did threw the regular season again, I'm all for him being on the team. Quite frankley he played really well for us. The post-season really hurt us him disappering like that. Idk I would bring him back for the right money. But who knows I think is makes it more interesting the JJ is here now.

I think he realizes two things: how badly his previous interviews sounded and that the C's are in a situation where they need another big man. Given that he's one of the few options we have he needs to make nice and attempt to at least have the C's make him some offers.

Hahaha
This guy knows he won't get a big contract cause of his putrid performance this year. No team is gonna pay him the big bucks after what he did

So he wants to stay one more year so he can play lights out for a bigger contract next year

Here is the thing with BBD.  He is what he is.  And that is a guys that shoots more than he needs to and is limited in other areas.  But he has been effective in the past.

So if we want to keep him we just have to let (and accept) him be himself.  BBD won't be effective if he has to think about whether or not to shoot.  That is what killed him last year.

All that said, I am hoping we can find a better alternative.

I'd rather take my chances with Johnson.

Exactly.  Well said.  With two old bigs, one of them barely hanging in there health-wise, and one rookie big who may not even make the team, we are certainly set for next year in the bigs department.

I get it.  You are a guy who doesn't think that players can improve, even if, like Rondo and Davis, they do in fact clearly  improve.

We need better coaching for the bench and for bigs.  This ought to be pretty obvious by now.

And the Cs need to make nice too.  Apparently Ainge has already said that Doc and Davis should talk things out.  It seems to have been a rare mature moment for Ainge.  Not only is he one of our few options, but he  has been [dang] good for us at times, including much of last year.  He was our best option off the bench and our most consistent big.  But how easily we forget all this when we want to scapegoat someone.  And how interesting it is to notice that you refuse to recognize another possibility - that Davis is actually listening to the therapist he claims to have hired.

No matter.  Ripping Baby is sooooo popular right now.

**** r u talking about?? Jermaine played through an injury, and still out performed Fat Baby. the 'old' KG remains one of the best PF in the NBA. the addition of Jajuan johnson & the possiblity of retaining Troy Murphy makes fat baby expendable.
