Shooting is a skill.  I see many flaws in his form, but you'd be amazed how many  coaches don't even teach folks how to shoot.  It comes from hard work and isn't God given.  You don't know jack bud.

No baby ever popped out of their mom shooting.

If you are doing your reps wrong with bad form all the practice in the world won't help.   Rondo 's elbow is out of line and it's also cocked back too far.

Jason Kidd was horrible and it took him years to develop a jumper but he has one now.

he definetley brings it way to far back near his ear almost he is getting better though, i think he still can develop i dont believe this at all. on the other hand ray allen does have a shooting gift. BUT its not like rondo cant get better from the freethrow line because that is just FALSe if he can improve his freethrow game he can definetly improve in other areas as well

I think he can improve his outside shot with work, but I also still think the physics of his body play a role in making hard for him to have perfect form.

I actually think that one of the problems may lie in his trying to develop text book form.  I just think those hands are too big for him to be able to rest the ball on his finger tips out in front with a perfect 90 degree angle at the elbow.  He compensates for that by narrowing the angle on the elbow and bringing the ball back towards his ear so he can get the right flip.

I think he might be better served bringing the ball up above his head a bit.  This might make it easier for him to get a good angle on the elbow and still be able to control the ball with the finger tips and not the palm.

I'm no Juergen Gershwinder (or whatever Dirk's private coach's name is), but I feel like it might be time for Rajon to try something a little more unorthodox and make it work for him.

He could take a page out of the books of some NBA notables including Magic Johnson, Purvis Short, Gary Payton, Jamaal Wilkes (oops), and Mark jackson among others who didn't have the prettiest of strokes but were effective shooters.

Shooting is like playing guitar. Sure some people are naturally more gifted than others. But with enough practice anyone could at least become a serviceable player/shooter

With rondos work ethic I see him becoming a co sistent shooter. He just said in a recent interview he wants to be the best point guard. I'm sure he knows that means getting more consistent with his shot

He seemed to shoot best last year when he disnt think too much and just shot when teams gave him space...it may partially bbe mental I mean he nearly beat durant in horse 2 years ago...knocking down 3s and long 2s

No baby popped out of their mom dunking a basketball either.  You saying you can train anyone in the world to dunk too?  Of course that is ridiculous.

And if a fan, watching TV from his couch, can see the flaw in Rondo's jumper, why haven't they fixed it already...after four years?

You are way off base on this one.  Beyond shooting form, which varies from guy to guy, there is a certain amount of hand eye cooderdination that is required to shoot a ball.  And that differs from guy to guy naturally.

You mean you've never heard of Bill Brasky?

Not only did he dunk as a new born, I once saw him scissor kick Angela Lansbury.

LOL

He was the quarterback of a championship team and the team's best player, for God's sake.

He was a key player on the 2010 team I'll give you that.  He was NOT a key player on the 2008 championship team.  He was benched several times late in games, and the teams lack of trust in him was the key reason they brought in Sam Cassel.

The Celts brought in Cassell because they didn't trust House. Rondo had games in the Finals of 15/5/7, 4/6/16 and 21/7/8 with 6 steals. Clearly he was a key player, clearly he's been a core player on a title contending team for multiple years.

I don't think Doc trusted Rondo or House yet, he wanted another option at PG if Rondo got into a funk during a tough game.

The Celtics knew they would have to face the Pistons in the playoffs. Rondo was a lightweight at the time and Doc knew he couldn't guard Billups who was stronger. Sam Cassell was more of Billups' size plus he gave the Celtics a 2nd point guard in case Rondo needed rest

Ironically Cassell had played himself out of the lineup before the Detroit series and Rondo averaged almost 40 a game vs Detroit.
