Tony Allen, great rookie season and then constantly injured.

I always knew he would turn a team around and help lead them to the playoffs.  I just thought it was gonna be the Celtics

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller

Going the opposite route, I thought Acie Law and Marcus Banks would be stars.

Lesson learned: I am an idiot.

How about Dee Brown.  He really wasn't that great a player but had one of the most memorable dunks in NBA dunk contest history, which is saying a lot considering the players he is competing against over history....including jordan, wilkens, v. carter, the birdman, d. howard, and many other stars and scrubs.  Even JR Rider who had hops like nobody's business couldn't top the arm over his eyes dunk by Dee Brown.

Well for a few months after winning the slam dunk contest Gerald Green was a star.

In retrospect, given his work ethic and lack of basketball IQ, it was pretty unlikely he would ever have been considered a star, but for a few months, he was.

I guess playing a playoff game after dislocating your elbow is all hype and no heart
