Baby's gonna want twice what he's worth (8+) and Green is gonna want 3x what he's worth (around 12mil).  Furthermore neither player is what we need right now.  Both are horribly bad deals.

baby is not getting 8 mill a year, and Green certainly isn't getting 12 mil.

I could see Green getting 8 though, which would put Danny in a tough spot.

And when neither get what they want, what is going to happen?  Because, I strongly doubt either get's an offer that high.

I don't know if this is correct or not but I've heard that Green turned down an extension with OKC for 10mil per year.  Baby was looking for 6mil back when he was an end of rotation player.  I don't think 2mil more for each player 2 years later is a reach for what they're looking for.

Obviously what they're gonna get depends on how desperate the teams that want them are.  But all they have to do is outbid the C's who are gonna low-ball both players.  Big Baby is at least going to get 2 or 3 year offers for the same money the Celtics are offering (1 year).  And if history has taught us anything it's that lottery picks who have proven to be decent starters and still have more potential typically get overpaid with their first real contract.  Wouldn't be at all surprised if Green got a 2 or 3 year offer in the 10-12 million range and the Celtics didn't match.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Jeff Green's agent asked for $50 million over 5 years. Oklahoma refused to pay.

I don't think anyone else will be willing to pay that either but I can see him getting around $40 million.

Oh thank you that makes more sense.  I thought it was his agent that turned it down.

I honestly have no idea what either will get.  It wasn't even really the point I was originally trying to make.  I just wanted to point out that despite almost everyone here claiming Baby is useless, people need to realize not everyone around the league shares that view.  I also wanted to point out if people think signing Green to the QO is an automatic, it is absolutely not.  And the last thing we need to do is get into a bidding war for Green.  That is a sure fire way to kill the cap space we should have in 2012.

If I had to guess what fair market value for either would be, I would say Baby should get 3 year 15mil, and Green 3 years 20mil.  I have a suspicion 3 year deal are going to be very common under the new CBA.  Mid-level players are going to see big reductions in contracts (both dollars and years).

I can see what you are saying, but I have a hard time seeing Baby getting $5M per year after the way the last few months have played out.

He seems a wee bit like a head case when you look at the fight that cost him the 1st couple of months of '09-'10 season and the sports psychologist he is seeing now. Plus, who else does the Dougie on Youtube other than teenagers?

With that said, I like him and would like to see the Celtics to keep him, but he seems too immature for the Celtics or any other team to pay him big money.
