Should Baby Come Back?

It doesn't seem like Bird rights will be taken out of the new CBA and we could exceed the cap to resign Big Baby, whereas if we pursued someone like Carl Landry we would have to be under. So, with his Bird rights, is Big Baby a better choice than Carl Landy or someone else?

Probably, yes -- I doubt they'll be able to replace BBD and acquire a quality center while keeping their 2012 cap flexibility alive. Especially if they lose Jeff Green and need to replace him too.

Not 100% certain "yes" but a very likely "yes" ... BBD should be re-signed.

 As a fan ive lost trust in BBD,imagine being a teammate,coach,gm involved with him...never know when he will/not show up mentally to play.Time to move on from Glen and allow him to find out whats he seems to think is out there that he's not getting in Boston.

I have Green penciled in as Pierce's backup for 14-16 minutes a game, and possibly getting another 8-10 playing the 4 in a small line up. 

Then we have KG who probably will be playing 29-31 minutes a game next year leaving 17-19 minutes at the 4.  Now for all his faults BBD has done a decent job off the bench; I don't believe we've had a more reliable bench player the past 2 seasons (that isn't saying much because overall our bench has been below average).

But at any rate; we don't have a lot of money to spend; whatever we do have needs to go to a 5.  Getting rid of BBD just creates another void in our lineup that needs to be filled.  He may not be the best solution, but he may be the best feasible solution for the Celtics given cap restrictions.

I like him, but he's going to ask for waaayyyy too much this offseason, I just don't see him signing with the Celtics again.

He'll enter into the FA market looking for millions, and a starting job, end up somewhere like Detroit and rot away on Detroit's bench making 1.25 mil/year.

He really killed his value this postseason.

Only players who want to play for this team should come back.

Davis has made it consistently clear year in and year out that he'd rather have a different role on a different team, and get paid more too.  Therefore, he should NOT come back.

I'd say the same thing about Delonte or anyone else if they didn't want to be here, but they all do.  Davis is the one person standing out in this regard, and I don't want that 1 person compromising Unbuntu.

green should be playing 15 behind pierce and 12 behind kg. jjj will fill the rest of the reserve 4 minutes. those early season minutes will be huge for the rook come post season

I think that we should only resign BBD if its on a 1 year deal. Then it's time for him move on. There is gonna be a small market for him cause he stunk for the last quarter of the season, give him a shot to have a good season for us and let him cash in next year, and we dont lose our flexibility.

I don't see him as a long term player for us once the big 3 move on, and I think he has really flourished playing with those guys.
