I'm skeptical, but I'll give him a chance.

can he contribute at all next year I wonder though? alot of people are saying now we can let baby walk....but, i guess i just have images of Avery bradley..

but I guess theres always been rookies late in the draft who can contribute..(i.e. Landry Fields)

we're still going to have to get another PF(or keep baby) behind KG...he's more like a 3rd stringer

I was pretty excited when Brooks fell to us at 25. Think we needed his youth and scoring ability since sometimes we fail to score when it matters most, like most of the games in the Miami series.

He can be pretty good and has significant upside. Don't mind Johnson, but feel like what you see is what you get. We'd be very very lucky if the kid is half as good as Marcus Camby. Not really an NBA body for someone his height.

I feel like we could've gotten more for Brooks than Johnson and a useless 2014 2nd round pick. Or kept Brooks and grabbed him in the second round

I have visions of Brooks and Al Jefferson on the floor together in green, putting up the first no-stop defensive disaster in NBA history.

Absolutely thought Ainge had lost his mind picking Brooks. Fortunately, sanity was just around the corner. He could have dealt the pick for the rotting, fetid corpse of former Celtic John Johnson and it would have been a massive improvement.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Great pick'n'pop player. Long and smart. His lack of strength is a huge liability and he lacks a high-level talent, like elite athleticism, to make up for it.

He reminds me of Josh Powell in the way he plays. I don't dislike him at all.

I like him more than Brooks.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
To all you Brooks supporters, here's something to chew on: he doesn't play defense - he wouldn't have stood a chance with Doc.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

He's a good free throw shooter too. The knock on him is that he doesn't have a bulky frame but KG managed to become one of the best defensive players of all time. I know KG is an exception but Johnson idolizes KG so this is a perfect scenario for both sides.
You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

I admit to not knowing much about him , but avery johnson said the reason why the Nets wanted him is because he can play defense and create turnover and finish/ shoot at the other end of the floor. He has a 7'' wing span for whatever that's worth , I would think long arms help playing D, like Rondo.

But I am very happy with Johnson and think he could become a future starter in the league, especially next to Dwight Howard :D
