Well, they need to do something, but they may be hesitant because of the CBA situation.

Ray Allen salary clear out to attain Gerald green from overseas.

  • Rondo = Good
I'm quite certain that Danny would like to make a big move to reshape the roster (young, athletic talent etc), but I think he's got his hands tied by the uncertainty of the upcoming lockout and the lack of tradeable pieces on the roster.

Don't expect any big moves.  This upcoming season is going to be a lot like the last one, although perhaps without the great start because there won't be that post-Finals hunger or Shaq's presence.

If we don't look like a contender by the trade deadline I'd be reluctantly expecting a KG or Ray trade.

I believe Doc is ready for the task of retooling while remaining relevant sometime soon.

But I believe more in the fact that he really wants to give it one more shot with the Big Three. Unless they fall flat early and look worse than 2009-2010, I doubt any of the Big Three get moved.

I could see him moving Rondo in the offseason, but only for another All-Star PG in their prime (so not Nash).

Other than that, I don't see a major move, not even to Green.

This team is much closer to a championship than most think. We just didn't have chemistry or health this season. We had to integrate Green, West, JO, Krstic, Murphy, Arroyo, and Pavlovic too late into the season. That's half our roster, including a starter and our two best subs. Still, had we had a healthy Shaq and Rondo, I don't think anyone stops us.

I really can't see any other team going for Rondo in a trade. He can't shoot and that suits us, not anyone else.

If anything Ray or KG will move on, but I still hope Big Baby is shipped off, preferably to Guantanamo Bay.

Oh, Danny will make some big move.  He's addicted to the thrill, I think.  But we don't need it.  Unless it's KG and Ray Allen for DH, I really don't care to see any big moves.  Danny's theory that Red should have traded Bird and Mchale is raving nonsense.  But unfortunately, it seems to be deeply implanted in his psyche.

Does this team look like a top tier defender like it did until The Trade happened last year?   No.  But we can still be a contender, and how strong a contender depends a lot on Rajon Rondo.
