According to TMZ, Artest filed a petition with the L.A. County Superior Court to switch his name to "Metta World Peace."

I hate Artest as a player (that cheap shot on Ray in Game 3 won't be forgotten anytime soon), but I gotta admit, I kind of like him as a person. This, the work on mental illness...Ron's an interesting cat.
