I don't understand the Tristan Thompson craze. Why is he so highly rated?
No idea. I mean, he's fairly athletic, a good offensive rebounder - which shows some instincts and he's actually very quick leaving the floor - and he's a solid 1x1 defender, both on the post and when guarding face-up threats. But he's very "man oriented", he loses track of the ball all the time and is a very poor helper.
I think Cleveland messed up by passing on Valanciunas...

Why? I doubt Valanciunas won't play in the NBA next season, I think they'll work out that buyout (assuming a new CBA is agreed on time), but wouldn't that be actually a positive for Cleveland? Giving them a better pick next season? Why are they in a hurry? Do they really need to jump to 32 wins that badly? Plus, it's not like Tristam Thompson is ready to be a positive contributor next season.
