BBD will never be the future...id hang myself rather than see that happen

He played great first half of the season...and for some odd reason, the taking charges stopped...his offense disappeared...rebounds kind of disappeared...not to mention he was useless in the playoffs

Dwight coming here would not have made Baby better or make him help the team better...

he needs to either get his head together and take whatever we throw at him or Go

You all do understand that this Baby hate is an obsession for you, right?   You do understand that you are diverting your frustration over last season onto Davis, using him as a scapegoat, right?  You do realize that this is classic behavior, right?

So quit!   It's ugly.  It's nasty.  It's not helping anything.
At least now we finally have a worthy scapegoat that actually sucks.  Better than everybody hating Tony Allen for no good reason.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

This all reminds me of Tony Allen.  3 to 4 million for 2 to 4 years is okay with me.  Finding proven talent for that is hard to come by.  Every year he has improved his game.  He is not the only Celtic to vanish in the playoffs. 6th man candidate, lead the league in charges and sacrificed his body....Had cap at 62 Million, 25th pick in the draft.  Holes in the Big rotation and he knows the system, and when he is in the spot light he has stepped up in big games.  Sign me up....

I agree and almost said as much regarding pay and contract length before reading your post.  At $3m-$4m per year, how is he hurting the franchise? Many teams are paying that to non rotation guys.  At the very least, he is worth it as an insurance policy for future injuries to JO and KG.

With only 3 guys signed for 2012-2013 and beyond, what else are you gonna get?  I'm not necessarily a Howard fan, but BBD proved to him 1st hand what he is capable of in the 2009 playoffs.  With Pierce, Rondo and Davis already signed and with the possibility of getting Allen and KG back with smaller contracts, that could lure Howard about as much as any team if winning now is important to him.
We all think we know more than we really do....

Very few people blame the 2011 playoff loss exclusively on Davis.  I personally don't blame him.

But this "hate" which you're referring to is different than you're perceiving.

Those of us who want Davis gone, do so for a variety of reasons.  Over the years he's been getting more and more minutes.  His lack of efficiency, consistency, or teamwork on both ends does not warrant him getting 58% of all available minutes on a bad team.  Yet he's getting those minutes on the Celtics.

It feels like watching a Ferrari of a team (production & efficiency wise) drive around with a donut for one of its wheels (no pun intended).

And every year its the same thing - Davis doesn't know his role, wants to start, would prefer more money on another team, doesn't stay in shape, and is generally more concerned with his own production than the team's wins.

Outside of Davis' conditioning & routine ball-hogging I don't particularly get mad at him.  I'm more mad at Doc for playing him so many minutes, and Danny for not getting more options.

But I've had it - I am at the point where if I have to watch this stellar team play Davis 58% of all minutes then I'm not going to be watching nearly as much.  I want Davis on another team.

Agree with many of the previous posters: I don't want him gone, I just don't want him playing >20-24 minutes per game and/or making more than ~3,000,000 per year. He's not worth it.

Bringing in Jeff Green paralyzed BB.  He was never the same after the trade and had no idea how to handle not being the main man on the bench anymore.

he completely forgot his role on the team.

Big question - what is the condition of his knees???

If he's recovered/recovering from the injury he had last season, I can think of worse players to have on the team.

I also am not going to blame the playoffs on Baby, but he's got to get his head on. Otherwise ship him out

Even after the acquisition Jeff Green the minutes for Davis were still there.  He still got the same minutes at the same positions.

If he forgot his role that is no-ones fault but Davis'.  Let's not use the acquisition of Green as an excuse.
