PHO would send Lopez to Golden State for Udoh and the #11.

If Lopez is indeed on the block, I hope Danny is doing his due diligence, and checking in on it. Lopez would slot into the trade exception from the Marquis Daniels deal, or could be swapped for Avery Bradley.

Udoh and the #11 sounds like a tough bid to beat, though.

Wow Golden State would be giving up a lot. I actually think Udoh has a lot of defensive potential. Why are they giving up on him? And throwing in the #11 too? This sounds like a steal for the Suns.

That is an awful lot to give up for Robin Lopez.

I've thought that Robin Lopez was an underrated player in this league, but no way is he worth that. The #11 pick should be enough in itself, and even that's probably overpaying.

Golden State should trade David Lee in order to acquire a top defensive center.

---------------------------

For example,

GSW could offer David Lee for Marcin Gortat and some filler (Pietrus?).

Then start Udoh at power forward alongside Gortat and trade one of their guards for atalented wing. For example, Monta Ellis for Danny Granger.

PG - S.Curry
SG - M.Pietrus
SF - D.Granger
PF - E.Udoh
C - M.Gortat

Go after a top quality sixth man in free agency and spend the next 12-18 months filling out the bench with some quality substitutes. A quality defensive backup big (not Biedrins, he isn't good enough) and a go-to scorer off the bench (J.Crawford? JR Smith?).

Or perhaps add an Andrei Kirilenko as a quick four with the MLE and keep Udoh to the backup PF slot. Fill out the rest of the bench over the next year or so.

Great trade for both teams, IMO. Biedrins is on his way out, and he needs a new start anyways if his career is ever going to take off. Robin Lopez is just the guy they need. Udoh will be made good use on PHO, and the #11 will be used on Jimmer Fredette.

But why pay such a steep price just because their current center isn't projecting how we thought he might?

Aren't the Warriors much better off trying to draft a Center and keeping onto Udoh? I like Lopez, and I agree with your thoughts on Biedrinis, but is the difference in talent level there that significant? I don't think so.

It does sound like a really steep price for Lopez.

I wonder if the reporter somehow got the facts wrong, or if this was Phoenix's initial offer.

That same reporter is saying that Phoenix will want to acquire another 1st rounder.

If Lopez is indeed on the block, I wonder if Ainge could somehow get Phoenix to accept a deal involving the #25 for him.

@RoySevillaHo Lopez for Udoh and #11 was discussed but did not get anywhere. It does show that the Suns are open to trading Lopez.

I'm guessing that Golden State said no to the trade the Suns floated then.

The second that Gortat was brought in Lopez was prime trade bait, I wonder how much they expect to get for him.

Thanks, Who.

So, let's turn this into the official "Lopez to Boston trade scenario" thread. He's available. Does Boston want him? How bad, and for what?

Well it got his name circulating so PHO can probably expect some offers coming their way

I think R.Lopez is probably worth a mid first round pick on the open market. Or a good young prospect who has already established himself as a quality rotation player in the NBA (say a Landry Fields type). Or a high quality veteran role player (Carl Landry type). Something along those lines.

The Celtics have only a low first round pick so they'd have to include an additional asset. Their early second round pick might be enough if there is someone there that the Suns really like. Otherwise, it would have to be an additional (protected) future first round pick or perhaps Avery Bradley if the Suns like him.

Other than that, the C's have nothing to offer.

Lopez does slot into the TE, so #25, plus cash and/or another future pick, might be a possibility.

And Bradley's salary does match as well. So there are scenarios that would work on draft night.
