  • Rondo = Good
If you had to guess, who that is currently playing in the league under the age of 30 would you say will one day be in the Hall of Fame?

LeBron (obvious)
Wade (obvious)
Derrick Rose
Kevin Durant
Dwight Howard
Blake Griffin
Chris Paul

3 guys who might get in by virtue of winning titles with others:
Russell Westbrook
Chris Bosh
Tony Parker

Also, I think Rondo could possibly get in just by being one of the main assist guys in the league for a while (especially if he can extend his career the way Kidd has).

Thoughts?

Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Parker already has 2 titles and a finals MVP, right? Also, Rondo has a decent shot at being seen as one of the better defensive pgs of all time (only 3 have more than 4 1st team all-defense and Rondo has 2 already), he's top 5 or 6 in playoff triple doubles as well.

Rondo's ability to really step up his game, and production in the playoffs will bode really well for him IF he can sustain it throughout the length of his career.

That's the key for all of these young guys.  Can they sustain it throughout the length of their careers.  There have been a whole lot of players over the years who had a few great years early on, then got paid and were unable to sustain their greatness for various reasons(injuries/got paid and stopped playing, etc...)

I can't believe you would put Griffin in as a HOF after one (great) season. I don't think you can even start to think about that until after a guy has done it for 5 years. Shawn Kemp definitely looked like he was destined for the hall of fame at one point and his career clearly tailed off. He definitely is a really high potential player, but you would have to say guys like Stoudamire (who may or may not be over 30) have a better shot than him at this point. Also, lets not forget he missed his entire rookie year with a serious knee injury...

Is Tony Parker really going to the Hall of Fame?

It can't be that easy to get in right?

I think Parker's got a shot.  He's a 3 time All Star, but also 3 time NBA champion, and 1 time Finals MVP.

Without the 3 titles, there's no way; however, as the ridiculous amount of 1960s Celtics in the Hall of Fame will show you, winning titles helps you into the Hall.

Plus, he's only 29, so it's possible he may make a few more All Star teams before all is said and done.

On sheer numbers alone, I can a few other guys making it:

Amare
Carmelo
Deron

A lot will probably come down to playoff success, but they should all have the stats to make it.

I just think of how difficult it was for Dennis Johnson to get in and I rate him higher than TP

Yeah, I would put all of those guys well above Tony Parker.

I think Carmelo and Amare especially have a chance to really go to the next level, playing in NY.  They still need to win, but if they can eek out just 1 championship, I think it will seal the deal for both of them, because of how big it will be on that stage.

LeBron
Wade
Rose
Dwight
CP3

Rondo's coming up to a huge point in his career next year when the Big Three leave.

He's also foreign borne, that helps.

3 ASG is pretty weak for a guy who's been in the league for 10 years when you're talking about HOF level players.  It just means he was very good but not considered the top at that position for his generation (CP3, Nash, Kidd, Payton, Iverson).  Now he still has time to build his resume, but it doesn't looke like the start of a HOF career to me.

Yeah, if Jo Jo White can't get any HOF love, I think it's going to be a tough road for Parker.

(Jo Jo's resume includes two titles, a Finals MVP, two All-NBA second team selections, and seven All-Star appearances.)

From listening to the media J.Kidd has been in the H for awhile...he couldve easily retired without winning 1 championship.
