Lebron's been coddled by ESPN and the pundits since high school that he acts like he's entitled to get "rings" and acts like its something that should just be given to him instead to work for it. just listen to his interview after losing...acting like he'll get his ring eventually because he deserves it, or joining the heat because it would be "easier" for him.
the fact is, he's not entitled to getting a ring, and its hard work thats taken players years to finally get one. it took Jason Kidd 17years, KG, RA, PP years of toiling on ok-bad teams...
I agree with this. It's as if he sees getting a ring similar to getting his high school diploma, if you hang around long enough sooner or later they have to give it to you.
My biggest problem with him is his refusal to take responsibility for his teams losing. Early on, this was not as much of an issue. When the cavs got swept by the spurs in his first trip to the finals, he was very humble, saying that he had to work hard to get better and he had a better understanding of what it takes to reach the top after that loss. Somewhere after that season, his mentally changed big time, and he talks about big playoff losses as if they were not his fault.
The worst was after the latest finals loss, saying he felt they did enough to win. Really? If you really think so, then why did you lose? It's not like they lost in game 7 on a buzzer beater or anything. I would expect a great player in his position to say that they need to work harder to improve, especially him, and that he would do the best he can during the offseason to improve his game. But Lebron, nope. Apparently he believes he has no flaws in his game, and if that's what he really thinks then he will never be great. Players like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, they worked their butts off every summer hating the idea that someone else might exploit some weakness in their game, so they did their best to eliminate the weaknesses.
Until Lebron stops treating winning a title like getting a HS diploma, and gets his rear end in gear to improve the many flaws in his game, he will never, ever, reach the level of any of those players.
