The Celtics would love to be in the mix for Tyson Chandler, who gave Dallas a defensive and rebounding presence inside. Chandler earned $12.6 million in the final year of his contract and bringing him back will be more difficult than Barea. “Right when [Chandler] got there, we kind of viewed him as our quote, unquote, Kevin Garnett,’’ Cuban said. “The guy that was going to be vocal, that was going to hold people accountable. I remember having conversations with him, it’s OK to yell. This team has enough camaraderie and trust that you can do those types of things. He kept on bringing it.’’ Boston Globe

Everyone should consider Chandler off the market.  There is no way Cuban lets him walk, and I expect them to announcing his extension (on the current CBA rules) in the next 2 weeks.

Even if Chandler left Dallas, there's no realistic way that we could afford him.

Even if DA is interested in Chandler i don't see how we can get him. We only have MLE and he will ask and get more money than that. S&T i don't think is a option also, so is there a way to get him?

Yea I was about to say the same thing. When they won, one of the first thing he said was taking care or Tyson Chandler. He's staying in Dallas.

Also I just found out and it was a coincidence that he wears number 6 because of Russell and he said one of his idols was KG. He gives him a lot of praise and always defends him when people said bad things about him like this past season.

  • Rondo = Good
The Celtics aren't going to be able to afford Samuel Dalembert, let alone Deandre Jordan or Tyson Chandler.  These "rumors" about the Celtics acquiring these free agent centers are pretty silly.

Our center rotation for next year will likely be much as it was in the playoffs this year, only with a D-leaguer / rookie playing 10-15 minutes a night instead of Krstic.

They were probably banking on Haywood as the long term starter, but that signing proved the only stain on the season. No way Dallas let's Chandler go in light of Haywood. Even if Dirk slows down and Kidd hangs it up after next season at least they'll have size and length for the foreseeable future.

kind of a non story.  just about every team in the nba outside of orlando and okc would be interested in Chandler if he were available.

I think everybody will want Tyson as a Celtic. But Cuban will not let him go and even if he does (longshot), C's cant afford him.

this postseason we saw z randolph and chandler come up huge. in the past they had both been labled as underachievers or career losers. i think its time to quit throwing out those labels.

Chandler is for now one of 2-3 best Centers of NBA LEAGUE. Strong, very determineted, real warrior. Unlikely to come to Boston. Cuban is not so stupid to let him go so easy.
