Wish Jeff had been less 'Oh I don't want to step on anyone's toes, I'll just try to fit in quietly' and more 'I know you guys are good but let me show you what I can do'. Hopefully he will next season.

I like this player, think he could be very handy for us.

I don't think a lack of aggression was his problem. When he played with the second unit or played with a bunch of the first-stringers, he was set up a lot in the post. I don't remember him turning down a lot of shots.  I thought he was more of a black hole.  I don't want to know what he thinks more aggression adds up to.

What I wished he did or could do was fit in by being a better passer.  It never hurts to be a good passer and passing would allow him to fit in with the starting unit better.  It's all a process of him being a better an-all around player and high level role player.  Right now, he's a below-average defender, rebounder and passer.  When he's not scoring, he does absolutely nothing out there and more so, hurts the team because of his deficiencies.

Yeah there's this point guard called Rajon Rondo that was just as timid when he first started playing with the 3 hof's. Then what happened to him?

I'm sure Doc can play some sort of mind game on Green like he did with Rondo.

Exactly what I was thinking....

This kid is going to be great. Look at how much of an impact Maquis was able to make after just having a season with this team. I'm looking forward to seeing him in green and white for awhile.

Oh my god, I hate him. We'll be hearing this same stuff all next year. Timid headcase.

TP.

This kid is clueless on the basketball court - that's exactly why OKC traded him

they traded him because they needed size and Jeff Green is undersized for a 4.

Dont see whats to hate about his statements...he basically said playing with 4 all stars and 3 HOF'ers he didnt want to step on any toes

TP.

I don't know how anyone hates him... better yet, why do they hate him? Give me a real reason why you hate him b/c I'm lost as to why people would.

If you actually look around, you'd see the people hating on Green would be the same people who gave up any hopes for a championship because Perk was traded.

So, you mean the people who were right?

Go figure

People hating on JG are the same guys who worship Perk and will never get over the trade.

Weren't a lot of people complaining that KG was not being aggressive enough and giving up the ball too much?  Do we all hate him now also?

Sure, just like anyone who said that the Bulls/Lakers/Spurs had no chance at all of reaching the Finals. When's the last time a team entered the playoffs with a better than 50% chance of winning it all?

Perkins' -34 +/- in the playoffs for OKC would have made all the difference in the world for the Celtics right?

Harden +80
Collison +79
Durant +51
Westbrook +29

I'm sure OKC fans are thinking the same; we gave up hope of winning the title when we traded for Perkins.

This is a good sign. In the half court, especially with the second unit he needs to be more aggressive. Playing with the starters he has to take the open shot and create on a mismatch.

Very often he got out behind the defense using his speed on the break. With a full season playing here I think Rondo and he will get the timing down that allows them to convert most of those opportunities unlike last year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Jeff Green will be fine next year. He is a good player and part of our future. He struggled a lil this year but look at his situation: playing with 3 HOF's and rondo, PLUS the team was mentally and emotionally upset bc they had loss a bro in Perk and green is what they got back. The trade was ill-timed but not a bad one if done after the season....Green will be good, just give him a lil time fellas

I hated the trade.

I like Green

I now worry if Green actually fits with the Celtics as they are now.

I've been thinking that since Green got here. He has a case of "Marburyitis". He didn't really want to assert himself 100% or play his normal game seeing how many scorers we have & the fact that we're legitimate championship contenders, he didn't want to be labled Selfish and have the weight on the city of Boston on his shoulders if were were to lose and Green was taking all the shots. I guess the real question is how do you remedy the situation? Even though they're all considered "old" this team is still known for the big 3 (or 4). I like Green and all but I think he'd be better off personally with a struggling team. Like Sacramento.

If Green goes through a full training camp with a full team and learns our defensive rotations - he will become a big asset for us.

His defense got markedly better in the second round. He did some nice work on Carmelo and some even nicer work on Lebron.

I bet Doc will try to turn him into a pit bull on Defense.

Why, because Doc knows if he can get Green "there" on defense, that aggression and toughness will carry over to the offensive end.

I am very curious to see how much Green improves in individual and team D by mid season next year. If it's a noticeable improvement, we'll be off to the races with this kid.

Give him a little time.

Perk might not have guaranteed a series victory but what he would have done is clogged the lane for Miami's drives to the hoop.  He would have reduced Miami's offensive rebound volume by getting more rebounds himself and most importantly keeping BBD out of the Center spot and at the backup PF spot where he belongs and is far more effective.

I have no doubt OKC fans thought they actually had a far better shot at the title as opposed to many C's fans that saw their chances fade.  Guaranteed OKC is much more excited to have a full season (or whatever length next year) of a healthy Perk next year than Boston is to have a full season of Green and only JO as their lone center under contract for next year.

Watching him play, I seriously doubt that Jeff Green can be a "pitbull" about anything. I haven't seen many passive pitbulls in my life.
