In his defense, it's easy to say "be aggressive."  It's quite another when it means choosing to look for your own shot when you're playing alongside three future first ballot Hall of Famers and Rondo.

Part of the conundrum of this team is that there are so many scorers, but no clear go-to scorer.  Thus, we do need someone like Green to step up; however, how do you assert yourself in an offensive predicated on moving the ball and being unselfish?

That's not to say there aren't ways to do that within the confines of the system (there are).  However, it''s a more complicated process here than in OKC, where Green had isos and other plays run for him.

This kid is clueless on the basketball court - that's exactly why OKC traded him

they traded him because they needed size and Jeff Green is undersized for a 4.

Dont see whats to hate about his statements...he basically said playing with 4 all stars and 3 HOF'ers he didnt want to step on any toes

I don't know how anyone hates him... better yet, why do they hate him? Give me a real reason why you hate him b/c I'm lost as to why people would.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Yeah there's this point guard called Rajon Rondo that was just as timid when he first started playing with the 3 hof's. Then what happened to him?

I'm sure Doc can play some sort of mind game on Green like he did with Rondo.
I like Marcus Smart

Yes, we've seen this before with players who were historically much more aggressive offensively than Green, even Starbury wasn't aggressive enough on offense.

This is what I've wanted to hear from him - he knows he was too tentative. Now it's about him showing he understands what's needed by performing on the court.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

If you actually look around, you'd see the people hating on Green would be the same people who gave up any hopes for a championship because Perk was traded.

Completely agree with this. I think for all the great things team play gives this team, that it also, in a way hinders the great personal skills that makes some players standout. I think there should be a good balance of team play and ISOs for the likes of Green or Wafer to excel. Really falls more on Doc's play calling, you want someone to be aggressive, in what way? When he's playing with the big 3 where majority of the plays are called for or Davis (blackhole). Doc just didn't really wasn't able to find a clear way to utilize Green to get his full potential.

It's really that big of a pressure for anyone going to this team that asks you to play team first to the bone, unlike say the Heat, in where you go there and you know you just need to stand in the corner and watch James and Wade do something.

A 4-year veteran who was a starter for his previous team really has no reason to not play aggressive basketball. The problem is Jeff Green is not an aggressive, let-it-all-hang-out basketball player. We shall see what next year brings.

I've only ever seen one comment from someone about hating him.  He seems very nice, impossible to hate.

A lot of people hate The Trade, though.

That's just it, he was a starter... he didn't know he was to be a bench player who had to come in a play like a starter (remember it was NEW for him). I have seen so many starters become totally different players when they have to come off the bench... he was only a bench player for 26 games and he is young... give the guy a chance! Hell, not to forget, some of you say it like he was horrible... didn't he average 9pts?

Basically you are talking about a situation where the team was forced to go back to training camp, on the verge of the playoffs, by Danny's Folly - and you are saying it's Doc's fault.
