Marcus (Mpls)

Do you think the TWolves will keep the 2nd pick or trade it?
Chad Ford (1:13 PM)

I think they trade. But they won't give the pick away. I think they're another possible destination for Monta Ellis. I think they're also intrigued if they could swap No. 2 for JaVale McGee.

If they can rid themselves of Darko Milicic, its worth it to Minnesota.

A Love/McGee frontcourt would be dynamic. But if i were the T Wolves, i don't know if i'd pass up on getting a player like Derrick Williams to do so.

Wow, great trade for Washington.

It would be fantastic to see them put John Wall and Derrick Williams alongside one another. Add a couple of veteran defensive minded bigs to show them away and that would be a very enjoyable team to watch grow.

I don't know if i agree with this. Sure, David Kahn says his share of idiotic things but i think overall they've done a great job at collecting young talent...

They have a solid core of young players. If they can get some veteran leadership and if Rubio is half as good as he's hyped up to be they'll be fine.

I'm hard pressed to say that the Wolves are a worse managed team than the Charlotte Bobcats

I really disagree with this.

Besides acquiring Beasely, what has he done to significantly improve this team either in wins or potential value?

The rumor I heard before Ford posted this was McGee and the 6th pick for the 2nd pick. That makes more sense to me.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That's a steal for Minnesota.

Javale McGee has some upside, but i feel like it will only come from being around veteran leadership. Is Kevin Love grown up enough to make younger players grow up around him?

My guess would be Minnesota leaked the rumor about getting McGee and the 6th pick and Washington leaked the rumor of trading McGee for the second pick.

agreed -- good deal for Minnie.  Williams nor Irving is a sure deal in this draft.  #6 will offer up a solid prospect for that team.  Adding a decent big man like Magee will help solidify that frontcourt.  Finally bring in Rubio.

line-up of Rubio/SG/Beasley/Love/Magee would make a nice young team to start off with.  If a quality SG is there at #6, I think Minnie would be looking at a team worth developing.  (maybe trade #6 down for further assets and look to pick up Marshon Brooks in the mid-teens as their next SG).  The question is, is that too advanced for Minnie to consider.

I think McGee and Love front line would be fairly disastrous. McGee, despite his incredible athleticism and shot blocking skills, is a fairly miserable defensive player. I wouldn't want that paired with Kevin Love, who also struggles defensively.

Acquiring young talent doesn't immediately turn into improvement in wins, especially when basically the entire roster consists of young players.

Yeah I agree, if they rate Williams highly I'd rather have him instead of McGee and the 6th pick.

I just don't have that much faith that McGee will ever play smarter basketball than Mikki Moore.
